  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FMF Redhead pipe and 'open pipe' map

Weve been pushing the supply chain to cough up a full exhaust system for our 1R TXC310R. FMF has recently listed all the good stuff in their catalog....but delivery is another story.

First thing available was the Powercore muffler so we used some FMF contingency and ordered one, a few days later they posted the header, so we ordered that and then figured out we probably needed the quiet insert so we ordered that....

The Powercore muffler arrived a couple weeks ago and we are tired of waiting so installed it and ...OH MY ITS LOUD. Makes the 310 sound like Ryan Villopotos 450. BMP told us they have an 'open pipe' map for the ECU so we had Bill's guys download the map last weekend. It all sounds strong...

Double header GP and XC at Starvation Ridge (Goldendale, WA) this weekend so we will see how she runs in battle. Meanwhile we are still waiting for the header and the quiet insert and seriously dreaming about a Q4 so we can pass sound checks....

as discussed keep us up to date, same route plan for me as well (FMF powerbomb header/Powercore muffler with S/A insert, and need to pass ISDE qualifier sound check.

my goal here lies more on the less weight side, the 310 is in no need for more power, all that does is wear this old guy out. smooth controlable power from bottom to top with dose of quietness thats the mantra. FMF is my choice for a bunch of reasons including weight loss, kinda knowing the principals there, getting substantial contingency discount (from Tecate HS finish), possibly gain even more lower end torque, and having bomb hooked up to my bike- a powerbomb, question does a powerbomb beat a powerband, should I remove my powerband to install the powerbomb.........

We have the same issue at China Hat ISDE the end of April. We may have to use the stock pipe if the Q insert isnt here or doesnt do the trick.
