  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FMF Power Core 4 Hex S/A Silencer

AA Class
New member. Great forum. I just purchased a 2013 TE310R. After removing the smog equipment and intake restrictions and having the power mapping installed she runs great. Does anyone have any experience with the FMF Power Core 4 Hex S/A Silencer? Performance improvements? Weight savings? Worth the money?

Put FMF power core 4 with quiet insert on my 511TE. Lots lighter, more punch, low and midrange.
It is louder than stock. Nice, but fit and finish not as good as stock. I would recommend. That
Catalytic converter chokes the bike up and is a big heat sink. Really need it if you are going
To do power commander or JD tuners, or just trying to reduce weight

Ca has restricted CA in state purchases of mentioned systems due to their noting of what was thread stated as completed. I think we all best not post this stuff, I believe big brother is watching.
I can not currently get myself a system for my red sticker race bike (TXC-R), new CA regs will not allow purchase for race bike (TXC) exhaust systems that can be installed onto street legal machines(TE versions).
Its friggan unreal.
If they want to over regulate then go the whole deal, I'll send in my VIN and my out of control Gov can issue me a license to install a pipe on my red sticker closed course race bike, oh yea and of course charge me a fee to do this, and use that money for some other non motorsport related cause like criminal defense funds. My rave complete, remember loose lips sink ships, lets not give them fuel to burn us with. Those who are supposed be our public servants.........outta fffing control with bs. sick of it in dago.

or better, I'll become a Gov outlaw and find alternate means to install my world destroying/deadly/anti establishment/anti social/non politically correct/anti social/ unresponsible.....stupid ffffing exhaust system.

I guess my rave was not complete. (now it is for the moment)

PS my main reason for changing the pipe is for weight savings the oem pipe complete weighs 8.6 lbs and the muffler is very heavy away from cg. all the other power stuff is bonus, the bike is plenty powerful.

I would go completely NUTS if I lived in that state. I don't know how anybody can cope with their never ending bs regs. Crazy stuff I feel for the regular folk in KA. SoCalHusky Rider there was one in the for sale section a while back.

Hey Robert,

Why don't we all just chip in and buy the moon and have our own planet to ride on.

I feel for ya, but I think it is a matter of time before we all have the same issues.

California already owns the moon, that's where they put the states pension funds........ Oh, Only electric vehicles are allowed to operate there.

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback. It's not easy living on the left coast! My goal was a replacement pipe for the trail days. I would never think of leaving it on while riding on the street. ;)

jumping in here...

can anyone tell me the difference between the fmf powercore 4 and the powercore 4 hex (for a 2012 te310)? i notice fmf list only the hex but a lot of websites have both eg http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/Parts-Finder#mExhaust

also, will the fmf pipe for the 310 fit any other huskies (te250, 449?). i have seen some stores list the 250 as the same, some say the 250 to 511 are all the same and some say the 310 is different than all the other huskies???

im confused!

also, has anyone seen any cheap deals for a fmf at the moment?

I ended up with a full system from ZipTy. all I can say is WOW! You gotta hear it to believe the difference in throttle response. I had made a video of it but I can't seem to get it onto the computer

looks great! i have one of zipty fmf megabomb headers here that i am keen to try - hence my search for a fmf pipe. i dont want to modify the stock exhaust in case i need to re-install it.

Are you sure you have a mega bomb header and not a power bomb header? Also idk if the stock silencer and mid pipe will fit the fmf (I doubt it will).

The Powercore 4 is a nice muffler. Gives it a nice little kick in the low to mid range and sounds way better than the stock monstrosity.
I've ridden around town and had the Po po behind me, right next to me at stop lights and have never even gotten a glance. I've sat and talked
with Ranger Rick up in Plumas Forest and elsewhere and have never been hassled about my muffler or my non-dot knobbies or anything else. Maybe I'm
just lucky ? As far as I know, it's legal. I'm not 100% sure about that but that's what I've always thought.

yes, pretty sure its the meagbomb. see here http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/2011-12-fmf-310-megabomb-headers.32485/

the diameter of the stock midpipe is a fraction (1-2mm) small to fit over the fmf header so will need to be expanded to work. a local exhaust shop here said thay could expand it no worries but i would prefer to get a fmf pipe to fit up so i have one full fmf system and one stock system as backup. if i dont like it or decide on a change then i can sell the fmf setup and revert back to stock. if i expand the stock mid pipe then it wont work with the stock header anymore (i think).

hard to find fmf pipes for a reasonable price here in Oz and shipping is a killer from the US so im watching eaby to see if something turns up.

Well best of luck to you my friend. I am going to stick with my system they sent me.

Has anyone put the FMF powercore 4 hex on their txc310? How is it? Was gonna get one but FMF doesn't have any right now. Not sure if I should wait or go with something else.
