  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FMF Megabomb Header

Husqvarna
B Class
Hello -

So i've recently purchased the FMF PowerCore 4 exhaust slip-on and have been very happy with its performance.

Haivng said that, is it worth also changing ou the header? Specificaly, i would be using the FMF megabomb header to match their can for my 2012 SMR511

I also plan on buying the TE air box lid in the future and the JD tuner.

Thoughts?

I have a 012' TE511 I'm not running the FMF yet, but I have a 4.1 on order.
I am however running the JD and its a must have, I spoke with my dealer yesterday
and they feel the FMF and the JD are all most of us really need to do.

The JD gives you more fule which feels like more torque all over, the FMF
maximizes air flow. My question is about the air box? I feel like more cool
air could help. Motosportz and James Dean need to get together and make
a HI-flow turbo charged airbox! They can use my bike as the Guinny!

With the JD and stock exhaust, I can rock the throttle and pull it up in 4th.
There is for sure more torque now! Can't wait for the exhaust.

I agree with your dealer, The JD Tuner along with an aftermarket muffler turns the motor into the beast it was meant to be.
I ordered the 4.1 when I first got my 11' 511 and thankfully wanted to put it on at the shop and Dan was kind enough to loan me some tools
and lend a hand. We discovered that the 4.1 doesn't fit the stock TE511 header. I ended up exchanging for the Powercore 4 which I've been very
pleased with. I think that the 4.1 will need either a TC header pipe or a Megabomb header as the O.P. inquired about. That, imo, would be the ultimate !
