  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

511, fitted the JD tuner, Akro silencer, plug in to Race Map 2, 14T front sprocket, now at 7-8000rpm it hits a wall,Thought it was a rev limiter but have been advised by the brains on here thats not whats happening, its a flat spot? how do I over come this?
Theres a lot of smart guys out there that know there stuff, I could do with some help improving my bike and getting over this last hurdle.

It's a null in your stock ecu map. Re-flash and you can wind to 11krpm (at your own risk) lol..

Can you explain a little more please, I didn't notice this before the JD, and will the RE-FLASH I've been offered cure this, and will the JD still work/enhance the bike?

I'm not sure if you will even need the JD after reflashing, it is untested. The null spot is a spot on the digital map that tells the fuel injector to stop sending fuel, essentially a rev limiter.

Can this not be cured with the JD, and why wasn't this noticeable before the JD?, After a Re-Flash, would the JD not add more fuel?

Im guessing it is more noticable because now the dropoff is more pronounced. With the JD it is running stronger up until the ECU shut it down.

Yes, a JD can be used in conjunction with other maps...but it probably becomes moot in most cases.

The #3 map, how else is it described, I mean how do I know its the right map , when I'm trying to ask a uk dealer if he has this software, what would be the right questions to ask?
The US has a completely different following for Husqvarna than the UK, its not as easy to get info for this type of thing from dealers.

Is this what would improve my 2011, with the supplied Akro end can, power up plug?
And will the JD work-help or can it be left in and set at 2 on all settings to be standard on the map?

UK dealers have no knowledge of this BMW MAP.I can get the full titanium Akroprovic map,( is this the map 3#) not sure how that will run with the Akro end can that was supplied with the bike.
Is it possible to up load just that map and keep the original Race Map2, put switch in to the jumper lead and toggle between the 2?
The dealer preferred my complete bike rather than just the ECU to program. He recommended spending more time on bike set up than power, and dropping to a 5 weight fork oil and that the 2012 rear shock improved the back end, these two improvements would help the front end lift.

Ive been having the same issue on my 449 after installing an arrow exhaust and JD tuner; hesitation between low and mid revvs and flat spot at high revvs. Just had the ecu reflashed by the dealer and it didnt change anything, same issues as before. Is there anything else i could try? Any help would be much appreciated as rideability isnt very good and i use it as a commuter. cheers!

EDIT: not sure if it makes a difference but my bike is the smr model
