• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Fitting a Magura Mineral Oil clutch to a Brembo brake fluid system

STEVEL

Husqvarna
B Class
Hi i want to fit a Magura 1 clutch master cyclinder to a TXC250 2013 so i can use my Midwest Mountain lever, trouble is the Brembo uses brake fluid and the Magura is Mineral oil!

Does anyone know if i can use and what fluid should be used also

Thanks in advance

Right I know someone is going to have fits over this but around 4 years ago I mixed a brake fluid system with a mineral oil setup and after the master clyinder seal swelled so bad it all went tits up. I rebuilt the master cylinder and used good old sun flower cooking oil for the system !! Sold the bike to a mate that still has it and its never been a moments trouble and works as smooth as the day I put it all together and has as far a I know never even had a top up or fluid change.
Its entirely up to you but it will get you over the problem and works really well unless someone else has a better idea.
It dosnt matter what way you go with brake fluid vs mineral oils both will swell seals that are not designed to be used with.

I have used a couple of different fluids, I agree with you about swelling. Only thing is the return action is slower with thicker oils, when I used 10w40 engine oil it was slightly harder action and slightly slower return speed.
