  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Got to race a couple weekends ago at a local hare scramble. It was a buddy race so I got to rest every other lap. We each rode 25 miles so it was about perfect for a guy who hasn't raced in awhile. The course was great but of course started to get pretty rough the last few laps. Ok, about the bike. I've loved the bike since the first time I rode it, but was really impressed with it at race pace. While trail riding, sometimes I wish it had a little more power and wider gear spread. I never wished either of those things during race. I had to shift more than I'm accustomed to coming off bigger bikes, but the power was great for racing. I've said that this is the best handling bike I've had and the race made that more obvious. The rougher the track got, the better the bike got. Kayaba has got suspension figured out! No crashes, no issues, and me and my partner got 4th overall. Also, a guy at the race asked to ride my bike a lap on the course. He came back and his first word was "wow!" I heard him telling his wife about it and I think we may have another new Husky rider soon.

just got my new 2012 txc 310 husky. i rode it in heat cycles to break it in today and it was amazing. it has all that i need. fuel injection, wonderful brakes, and of course, plenty of power. i generally ride through woods trails and only sometimes when im not looking to ride for a long time i will take it my bikes onto motox courses and i absolutely love this bike. it has a wonderful amount of torque which is just what i need.
