• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

First big trip on my 630 retard!

Had my SM630 for a while now but it had never ventured too far from home. Just did 3000km in 4 days and I now have to say it's the best road bike I have ever had. There are a few things that could be better such as the fuel range but overall it was a far more pleasant experience than I expected.

POSITIVES-
-upright riding position is good for hours.
-sportsbike riders always let you go first when you get to the fun twisty stuff.
-reasonable fuel consumption, 200km before the warning light came on.
-super light and narrow compared to your average multi cylinder road bike.
-awesome wheelies.
-whenever we pulled up the 630 got all the attention.
-never had to back off due to bumpy roads.

NEGATIVES-
-seat grows teeth after a few hours.
-would like a extra few liters in the tank.
-encourages riding practices that are frowned on by the cops.
-headwinds can become very annoying.

I did not mention luggage carrying abilities, I just used a backpack (no camping) and that was fine with me. The guys that could carry a lot of stuff just seemed to carry extra crap that they did not need.

Could not be happier:D

Yep, we use kilometers not miles. I carried 2 liters of extra fuel in my backpack so could get about 280kms before getting desperate for fuel.

You can easily do 280 km in Canberra, just riding around in big circles looking for a fuel station.

-seat grows teeth after a few hours. If seatconcepts.com can ship to you , one of the best upgraded IMO.

I did not mention luggage carrying abilities, ( i use a set of doggie saddle bags over the tank for overnighters , works great ) I just used a backpack (no camping) and that was fine with me. The guys that could carry a lot of stuff just seemed to carry extra crap that they did not need.
