Bike is in! Unfortunately.... Labor Day Holiday will throw a wrench in the works. I'd go get it Monday, but they are closed. Another week to wait!
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
3 hour trip one way to get it, so takes a bit planning. I almost would have went today, but had to get a Wisdom tooth pulled... Fun, fun!Throw that crate in the sprinter![]()
really? You must have already waited a few decades to get that pulled, should have got the bike lol3 hour trip one way to get it, so takes a bit planning. I almost would have went today, but had to get a Wisdom tooth pulled... Fun, fun!
Awesome! I get it norm wants electric start but I don't need it...i want lightweight weapon...with no frills and all business..Hey Fletchman soon I will have a ride report on the Zip Ty Racing Built TC 125 converted to off road use
You want in between John and me.... TC, but a 150, not a 125.Awesome! I get it norm wants electric start but I don't need it...i want lightweight weapon...with no frills and all business..
cough cough!!I will try it first as a 125 I do remember my Italian husky 125 was faster then my 165 on flat ground Add in a sand wash or some hills and the power of the 165 pulled But in the higher speed stuff the 125 pulled away
My 165 was not a top end monster, compared to the 125 and 144 versions. I never really quantified it though. My old style TE150 with FMF Fatty and one extra tooth on the rear sprocket would definitely out pull and have higher top end speed, than my 200XC-W stock pipe and gearing. TE150 has a very accurate ICO Checkmate and the 200 stock KTM Odo matched it pretty well. We have a long uphill pull in a grass track, where you get tapped out in 6th gear. The 150 was 4 mph faster at peak, than the 200. I put FMF 200SX Fatty pipe on and actually added a tooth the the rear sprocket.... Then speeds matched. The pipe added quite a bit of top end and the extra tooth added back the low end it stole. Win/Win!I will try it first as a 125 I do remember my Italian husky 125 was faster then my 165 on flat ground Add in a sand wash or some hills and the power of the 165 pulled But in the higher speed stuff the 125 pulled away
You and me both!Looking forward to how the new 150 compares to the above![]()
It is in a way, hard to let go.... It was only going to be a stop gap bike, until the new estart TE150 was released. I never intended to buy one, but it fell in my lap used. Fate kept it in my hands an extra season, but one ride on the new 150 convinced me it was the right choice to let it go. My '15 TE125/150 is a little more unique and special to me, as I did the motor conversion. It would be pricey, but I might just convert the '15 over to electric start with 200 parts. Solid Performance KTM did a '15 TE125 estart for a customer.Norm 6 days 200 looks sharp!
Prob hard to let go.....
