• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Fiat may buy MV Agusta....

If it wasn't for Chrysler, Fiat would be bust right now. Obviously another Government handout coming

Jeeps are selling like hot cakes in OZ and the Chrysler 300 C is doing pretty well too.

Fiat would not be bust at all..... They got so much money since they have Sergio.
They also own IVECO and CASE NEW HOLLAND and many more... i worked for CNH in Italy 10 years ago. Chrysler was just a start on the US market.

It seems pretty common in some areas for tractor places to also be atv/quad dealers as well. I do business with a new holland place that carries can am. I think can am made (past) stuff a bit closer to what husky does/did than MV. It is rather strange both case and NH stuff come branded in packaging case/nh their parts websites are very similar but you can't get case stuff from NH and vice versa.

I don't study the corporate structures but it seems they have joint ventures for engine development diesel and natural gas as well I believe.

There is a hydrostatic three cylinder diesel lawn mower a friend of mine was trying to get me to buy one and makie it into a motorcycle chasis.

Norm it seems your friend Rob has buy outs following him.

They re branded Ford tractor division New Holland. That is New Holland Pa USA I believe the implement division must have a different history.

Fiat \ Fiat SpA \ Fiat Group, is apparently a conglomerate under the covers... Purchasing a motorcycle company to them would be like one of us buying a tinker-toy set ... Why even bother?

This Case International \ International Harvester \ Farmall , farm equipment companies have there roots in America heartland farming around the 1900s time frame. Not sure on New Holland but I'm sure it is in the states ...

So many brands disappeared in the last 20 years.................................

Fiat Tractors bought first FORD Tractors from England in the late 80's
after a few years they bought the NEW HOLLAND Brand from Pennsylvania US.
Then in the early 90's they called there Tractors FIATAGRI . They used to run the same tractors for FIATAGRI and NEW HOLLAND brand.
Ford was untill the early 90's still with there own product.
Mid 90's Fiat Stoped the Ford brand and started out with the FIAT/NEW HOLLAND.

in that time they also bought Brands like Hesston USA and Braud France and some others. Clayson Belgium. Case Poclain France . O&K Germany . ......

Late 90's CASE IH was in trouble and the Mother Company who owned Case IH (Tenneco England )sold the Brand with all its Factorys and Know how to FIAT.
Case at this point was near a Complete Bust.
for the first 4-5 years both Brands NEW HOLLAND and CASE IH just shared some simple parts. Early 2000 Fiat Named the whole Ag site CNH Global NV.
Cummins as a main Engine Supplier with CASE IH was dumped in 2008.
Since them FiatPowerTrain (FPT) Engines made there way into most of the CNH MAchines. and alsoTransmission.

FIAT also stoped the joint with Allis (now AGCO) and went together with KOBELCO (JAPAN) after the huge KOBE earthquake ... Kobelco was hit pretty hard and Fiat helped in form of money to bring the plant back up.

FIAT buys things... merges them togheter and dumps a lot of knowledge also and people.

AND all this is just Surface...
