  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE/FC Fender Bag?

Anyone running a rear fender bag on your Husky? What are you using?

I had one on my last bike, would hit me in the ass sometimes on whoops, so I'm debating putting another one on my new FE350. I do a lot of high mountain riding though, so I like to carry tool bag, tire repair kit, bolts, and stuff. Right now I've been putting in all in my vest but might be nice to get it off my back.

I've been looking at this one:

Any suggestions?

I have a buddy that runs a 500EXC and has a wolfman tail bag on his fender. Nice size. I personally don't care for it but it works for him. Seems to be solidly mounted and he hasn't said anything about the tail flexing.

Hard to beat the Kreiga tail tool bag. Real quality product. One of my crew has had one on his 350 since 2012, still works like new.

Most important is what ya strap too... I use Wolfman hardware on my front fender, headlight plate, and rear fender to strap my bags and fuel bottle down. I use the Wolfman fuel bottle holder and it is very secure and no rattling. As far as a small bag I use the Giant Loop Fender bag for my tools and such. My favorite is the Giant Loop Zig Zag Handlebar bag for my wallet, phone, snacks.

I use a small Tusk bag for basics. So its still easy to get my leg up and over-lol

$18 on ebay, cant beat it

On my Italian Husky's (510 and 630 I strap a Red Home Depot Husky tool bag to the rear rack.) On my 511 and the 510 and 630 as well I use a CoreTech Tank bag that is very usefull, they offer about 3 different sizes, I have both small and medium versions that are super covienient for quick tool/part access.
