  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FE350 ride

Well cafe crew I got to ride the FE350 today at our regular and very familiar riding zone. Number one the new machine is very nice looking, 2 the motor seemed to be tuned way more enduro style than the 350XCF s that I have ridden, 3 the suspension is way to soft for my heft, also note the sag was way sacked out so the front was not quite as it should have been..... Overall the bike feels great and very well refined. I like the bike, its got that great mix of the mid sized 4 stroke, easy for the fatigue factor yet gets with the program when on the gas. Today for me was what I expected the FE350 should be. Its quiet but has a great throaty sound when the it comes on the cam. controls are easy to manage (they are standard EU stuff-KTM/Husaberg)

So did it help you decide on a new bike or are you just more confused? :)
I can't wait to ride one of these. The people at my local dealer each had a different favorite bike.

the comparo is hard to do. my 310 is fully customized, I think by virtue of evolution with all the mods and personal set up done the FE350 will be a newer tech machine and more refined

Chilly posted a pic of testing a te300 today. I'm assuming it will be on enduro360 soon :). Haven't seen anything on the 250 yet though

I also got to thinking about my FE350 short loop after hearing the race team guys are all on FC models of the four stroke racers. The FEs are all smog EPA spec legal, so I'm sure that uncorked and mapped for personal preference this thing could be whole bike different. Just food for thought. PS I never said the thing didn't feel like a KTM XCF. Its not a ground breaker its just a newly evolved bike from the same factory that makes KTMs and made Husabergs.

We have both KTM 450s and Husqvarna 450's and they are not the same. I can't say whether or not this is true for the 350's since we did not order these. The rotary map adjusters under the seat are a nice feature on the Husky's, I'm sure the KTM's will share this tech soon enough.

The 350 is a wide ratio tranny, basically a W engine with linkage and 4cs forks.

What's the different in the 450s? Same engine, frame, forks etc. Possibly a little different suspension valving.

Sweet on the new stuff and yep ...the ktms are on the back burner for sure ... Good or bad, its all there in the SP genes ...

funny by the time i rode the FE350 my go pro battery was dead, but I have viddy of us following the FE350 around and up onto the rocks

Looks like pretty riding and I can see where those brush\bark busters are about essential out there... You even logged some air-time off some of those boulders!

The 7:38 mark shows how ornery those plants or trees or what ever those things are can be...
