• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Faulty Indicators

Hi all

I'm having some issues with my indicators on my bike.
Went for a off road blast last weekend in the wet and mud. Great ride :D

Anyhow come to use my bike today and the indicators aren't working at all.

Is there a wiring diagram for the indicators somewhere ?
Is there a common faulty part, fuse, flasher unit etc that is likely to be the culprit.

Might just be a dodgy earth but I'm not sure where to check.

Thanks
Gav

I would check under the tail section. Lots of crap will get in there when in the mud. Remove the whole tail light section and clean up the wires.

Yeah I gave the bike a good clean this weekend.

There was quite a lot of mud up on the tail section, which I cleaned off. The fuse boards seemed to stay pretty clean and can't see any blown fuses.

I've also ordered a set of Indicators and relay from fleabay just to test if the relay has gone.
Not sure how else to test this ?

Is there a wiring diagram available for the indicators / flashers ?

I imagine they just run off the switch gear on the bars to a relay and switched 12v / ground.
I don't imagine they go through the ecu do they ?

However I recall they only work with the engine on so what would do that ?

Looks like its a bad relay!

Bought a set of indicators and relay from fleabay and they are at least lighting up. Need to change all the wiring and find somewhere to stick this relay now. :( Tad on the large side to fit where the OE one was.

Also on the same ride the rear tail light blew, got water damaged.
I've replaced the bulb, but the brake light isn't working. Shall take a look in detail at the weekend when I get a heater in the garage. Far too cold at the moment

Not having much luck with the electrics at the moment ! Also the wire they used for this bike is rubbish! so brittle

Does anyone know what the fuses are for on the bike ?
