• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Corona, CA - April 30, 2012 - The Fred Andrews Racing (FAR) Husqvarna team visited a new stop on the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) circuit in Park City, Kentucky, where Andrew DeLong scored a second place finish in XC2, and an impressive fifth overall. Newly signed teammate, Nick Davis, rode to an impressive fourth place in XC2 (11th overall) in his GNCC debut with FAR Husqvarna.
The 12-mile loop of the Mammoth GNCC was full of rock gardens and a crowd favorite nasty uphill but DeLong and Davis handled it with ease. Fighting the 80-degree heat, the FAR team continued to post faster laps as the race pressed on. DeLong found himself in the lead after three laps, but a mistake quickly dropped him back to third. Fortunately he was able to regain one position before the checkered flag for a second-place finish.

"I had a good day today," Andrew explained. "I pushed to the front and wanted the win bad today. I still don't feel 100 percent, but I'm getting close. It was fun to race with those guys today; fifth overall is awesome!"

FAR's newest racer, Nick Davis, looked right at home on his TC250. "I am so excited to be on this bike," Davis said. "I love the way it rides, and the team is just so supportive. When I came in for fuel, the crew had the bike full before I was even ready to take off! This was my first GNCC finish of the year, and I couldn't be happier."

"I am so proud of my riders today," commented team manager Fred Andrews. "Andrew rode strong, fighting for the win, only to come up a little short. Nick was a rider that was very much under the radar... So much for being an unknown rider now!"

The FAR Husqvarna team returns to racing next weekend in Forest Hill, LA for round five of the AMA/Rekluse National Enduro Series.

Yeah, saw the results yesterday and had to laugh when Davis beat Thomas. Great job to the FAR team.

Intense. I see the scream to pass method is used in GNCC too :>) I like to sneak right up and then scream and when they look back nail it. A little faster and less technical than i thought it might be. Looks like suspension setup is as important as power. Nice riding.

I love the JT look-back at the 3:12 mark...You can bet that Andrew was on a mission.

Great weekend...

Hanging with the FAR crew is never dull...lots of fun.

Derek Sorenson was hanging at the tent...
Had breakfast with Al C. who rides a TXC310 in the Golden Master...Great guy, good advice.
Craig D. toasted a lower unit on the CR on the first lap...
Craig Morgan, the country star, was there and rode the TXC310
And his son rides the TC250!

And of course, Andrew and Nick always put on a good show...Good weekend to be wearing the "Red"...

Congrats!

Great video, some of that actually looked tighter than some others I have seen, but after the first lap alternate lines appear.
