• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

FAR Husqvarna Gets On The Podium Twice in GeorgiaFred Andrews Racing Husqvarna team finishes second and third in XC2 at the General GNCC.

Corona, CA - March 19, 2012 - Just four days after battling to the final lap in Florida, Jason Thomas and Glenn Kearney mounted up for round two of the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) series. Riding with the same intensity as they had done at round one, the Husqvarna duo matched each other lap for lap at the front of the pack all day long, and ended the day on the podium once again.
Riding identical TC250s, Thomas and Kearney got out to a clean start in the XC2 class, and Thomas physically led through the pits at the end of lap one. "I worked on my bike setup, and it was awesome today!" Thomas explained. "It was great to fight for the win, I just came up a little short today. [Steward Baylor] and I traded the lead so many times it was hard to keep track of where you were. He would pass me into one section, then I would get him back in the next, and then before I knew it we would be trading once again."
Not to be outdone, Kearney was out to score his second podium of the week. "It was really a great day to ride." Kearney said. "The rain had really worked its way through the course, and there was virtually no dust all day."

Unfortunately for Kearney he found himself digging his bike out of a mud hole for a second race in a row. "I really only made one mistake today," the Aussie explained. "I followed Jason and Stew [Baylor] into a big mud hole, and as they entered, mud was flying everywhere. I tried to go to the right to avoid it, but it just didn't work. I got stuck, and they did not." Fortunately a near three-minute gap on fourth place meant that he could go on to finish the race in a strong third place.

Jason Thomas led in the early goings on board his TC250, and would fight to the end only to have a lapper hold him back from taking the win on the final stretch.

Thomas fought for the lead through the last two miles of the event where a lapped rider would be the deciding factor on a second-place finish. "I am happy with how the boys finished today," Fred Andrews explained. "We really came out here and made a statement. I'm looking forward to watching this team progress throughout the season, and I know that we are going to win one of these events very soon."

The FAR Husqvarna team will be back in action on Sunday, April 1 in Morganton, North Carolina where Andrew DeLong will hopefully return to racing and continue to keep FAR Husqvarna atop the XC2 podium.

On the second lap we were watching a slight uphill woods section coming out of a creek bottom. There were basically two lines going up the hill, of course you could do whatever you want but there were trees all over. The xc1 guys came through and took right or left with minimal creativity. We agreed the right line was faster. Stu then JT7 came through and took the right line. Then Aussie Glen came through and found/made a total new line connecting the right line to the left line. It was without a doubt the straightest and quickest way up the hill. My buddy and I looked at each other and said "now that's how you do it!". Leave it to an 'ol vet pro to be looking far ahead and taking the best route.

Awesome guys!! I went to my first GNCC race ever and decided to particpate in the "trailrider" class, just to see what it was all about. Dumped it in the mud on the first lap and had to splice some wires with my teeth to get the TC449 going again, but managed a 1st place finish. 3 other riders from Canada also pulled some 1st places, all on Huskies. This was at the opener in Florida. Good times!!

Nice. Great to overcome adversity and still win.

Freddy, when you going to put a TC250 head on a 310 for Andrew to ride in the enduro series?

Or someone else in the XC1 class?

Andrew likes the extra low to mid power of the TXC 310 in the tight and quick burst sections of the enduro's..

Hope to have a XC1 soon...

Rollin Husky; GOOD job with fixing the wires and still putting your TC449 in the winners circle!!! Hope you had a good time at the GNCC races and come back and do some more! Stop by and say HI next time... I talked with Guy Giroux about his 2 wins at the first 2 GNCC rounds..
