• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Andrew Delong finishes third in XC2 Pro Lites at his first race with FAR Husqvarna

October 24, 2011 - Corona, CA - At the Ironman GNCC in Crawfordsville, Indiana, the newest member of the Fred Andrews Racing (FAR) Husqvarna team - Andrew Delong - recorded a podium finish in the XC2 class. Meanwhile, Jason Thomas continued to forge ahead, this time racing to a sixth-place finish despite a broken hand!

FAR Husqvarna has added Delong to the team for the remainder of the 2012 season. The 21-year-old National Enduro regular only had two days on the bike before the Ironman GNCC, and still managed to pilot his TXC250 to a third-place finish.

Despite getting off to a "bad start," Delong made his way into third place by the end of the opening lap. He was pushing for more throughout the race but still ended up in a strong third place for the day.

Jason Thomas injured his hand on Tuesday while out testing with Andrew. The X-rays revealed a broken bone, but nonetheless, Thomas announced that he was racing - broken hand and all. Luck was still not on his side as he had a terrible first lap which left him struggling to overcome a time deficit for the rest of the race.

"The track was the best one this year and I pushed hard today, but I'm so mad," Thomas lamented. "I was climbing one of the big hills and a spectator was sitting on the hill with a cooler. I had to change my line into a tree not to hit her! I lost so much time on lap one. That cost me for the day. My hand was hurting but I can handle pain."

"I am so proud of Andrew and Jason today," Fred Andrews said. "Jason always gives me 110% - he raced with a broken hand! Andrew rode awesome today and FAR Husqvarna is excited to add him to the team."

After only two days on the FAR Husqvarna TXC250, new team member Andrew Delong rode to a strong third-place finish at the Ironman GNCC!

Thomas managed to finish in sixth - within seconds of fifth-place. The next - and final - stop on the GNCC circuit is Loretta Lynn Ranch, where the FAR Husqvarna team will be racing on both Friday the 4th and Sunday the 6th of November. Thomas now sits third in the XC2 standings, one point out of second, but with two rounds remaining in the championship, anything can happen!

Next GNCC Race: November 4, 2011 - Loretta Lynn's GNCC, Hurricane Mills, TN

I had heard rumors about this but Andrew has been on KTM since he moved out of the minis in ECEA and most of the time if not always on a smoker.
He is a outstanding young performer and would be a great addition if he stays on a Husky. Began to think a possibility of him on other than a KTM when Jarno Boano asked him to ride a Beta at the last round of the WEC. Hmmn. Wonder if that is Morgans old bike? Jason almost beat Morgan even with a busted hand and Andrew did beat him with 2 days on the seat tops.

I agree, fantastic news about Andrew.

I edited post #1 slightly to make it easier to read (larger font) - I am old and cannot see that well. Hope you don't mind.

I bet, if given a choice, that Andrew would like to try all the Huskys and see which he prefers and let him go for it!
