• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Podium for Thomas, FAR Husqvarna hosts country music star Craig Morgan at John Penton GNCC

July 11, 2011 - Corona, CA - FAR Husqvarna's Fred Andrews received a phone call on Saturday from his good friend, country singer Craig Morgan, who asked if he could ride a TXC449 at the John Penton GNCC. "If you can make it here from Colorado to Ohio before the start of the race, I will have the TXC449 ready for you," Andrews replied.

Two hours shy of the start of the race, Craig showed up ready to race! He was able to pull off a fifth-place finish in the senior division after flying all night and getting hardly any sleep - aside from taking a short nap in a cold creek crossing on the last lap.

FAR Husqvarna racers Jason Thomas and Morgan Moss fared well at the Ohio GNCC, both getting out to top-five starts in the XC2 class. Thomas was positioning himself to battle for the lead at the end of the first lap, but had a hard crash in the creek crossing on the second lap, and fell back two positions.

"I had a big crash and bent the bike up," Thomas recalled. "From there I pushed hard but got stuck behind some lapped traffic in the single-track section and lost more time."

Fortunately his skill and perseverance paid off, and Thomas was able to battle his way back up to third place by the end and put his Husqvarna on the podium. His hard-fought finish let him retain his strong second-place in XC2 points chase.

Moss had some challenges of his own, but like his teammate, he kept pushing and carried on to a strong finish. Moss ran as high as sixth place but lost a position after a crash. The FAR Husqvarna racer got back into his groove on the last lap and crossed the finish line in seventh.

The GNCC series now enters its summer break, and FAR Husqvarna riders will attending some local races and regional events during the down time, including the Craig Morgan Charity Ride event on August 6. For more information go towww.craigmorgan.com.

"We're thrilled to have a guest like Craig Morgan come out and join us for some fun at the races," Husqvarna National Marketing Manager Corey Eastman said. "And we're even more thrilled to see Jason Thomas get his Husqvarna on another podium. Hopefully our guys will enjoy some time off and come back strong in a few months to finish out the season on a high note."

Seistola and Salminen Split World Enduro Wins

On the world stage, Husqvarna racers fared quite well in the World Enduro Championship. Antoine Meo battled for the E2 win at the GP of Romania, but rode smart and conservative to a second-place finish, still able to gain valuable points on Cristobal Guerrero - his main championship rival.

Juha Salminen was once again victorious in the E1 class, though it was at the cost of his Husqvarna teammate's misfortune. Matti Seistola was in contention for the win, but a pair of crashes left him all the way back in ninth place. Last but not least, Sebastien Guillaume placed his Husqvarna WR300 on the E3 podium, collecting third on the day ahead of American rider Kurt Caselli.

Next WEC Race: September 3-4, 2011 - GP of Andorra, Sant Julia, Andorra
