• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Corona, CA - September 17, 2012 - Coast to coast, Husqvarna racers were in action over the weekend, celebrating a national win and two season bests between the Fred Andrews Racing (FAR) Husqvarna team at the Unadilla GNCC in New York, and factory Husqvarna racers at the Ontario, California round of the AMA EnduroCross series.

Andrew DeLong scored another big win in the XC2 division of the Unadilla GNCC - this time sharing the podium with his FAR Husqvarna teammate Nick Davis who pulled off a third-place finish. "I am so excited to get third," Davis exclaimed. "My arms pumped up the first two laps, but after they relaxed I could start riding like I knew I could."

Neither of the FAR racers got out to a good start, and had their work cut out for them at Unadilla. By the halfway point the TC250s of DeLong and Davis had worked their way through the field, and Andrew was finally able to seize the lead after a swift pit stop.

"I pushed my way to the front today," DeLong said. "I need to make up points on the leaders and I did that today. I needed to win!"

"Both my guys gave 110% today," said a very proud Fred Andrews. "Thanks to our pit crew for all the help today. We're so happy to put two Husqvarnas on the box!"

DeLong's win granted him another valuable advantage in the XC2 Championship points chase, steadily closing the gap on the lead even after having missed the first two rounds of the season. He is now third in points, three points away from second and a mere 13 points from the championship lead.

The AMA EnduroCross Series was back in action after the summer break. Kyle Redmond was finally in healthy race form, having utilized the 10-week break in the season to rehabilitate his fractured ankle. Redmond notched a season-best finish of fourth place at the Ontario round after having run third place for much of the main event.

"It was the best night all year," Redmond commented. "The bike was working really great tonight - I'm becoming more in tune with my TXC310. I really like coming to this track and just had a good night. So far it's been a tough year, but now I'm feeling good and I'm really looking forward to these next four rounds."

Redmond's factory Husqvarna teammate Cory Graffunder had a rather rough ride in Ontario, showcasing firsthand the unpredictability of EnduroCross. The X Games medalist was looking to back up his podium performance at round three, but struggled after not having spent much time on the bike during the summer break while healing a broken foot.

"I was expecting to pick up where I left off and I'm obviously not there," Graffunder lamented. "Nothing really went my way tonight... I showed a couple glimpses of speed, but made mistakes all over the place."

Canadian Husqvarna riders Guy Giroux and Philippe Chaine descended from the Great White North to card top-15 finishes in the XC2 Pro Lites class of the Unadilla GNCC. Husqvarna is also proud to congratulate its support riders who celebrated a successful weekend. Craig DeLong added another victory to the family name with a win in the 200 B class. In the Virginia Cross Country series, Robby Norwood piloted his TXC310 to another victory, and is now in strong contention for the number one plate with one round left.

Graffunder and Redmond will be back in action on October 6 for round five of the GEICO AMA EnduroCross series, the same weekend the FAR Husqvarna team will contest the next round of the GNCC series.

After his GNCC victory, DeLong jumped on a flight to Saxony, Germany where he will be contesting the 87th International Six Days Enduro for the U.S. Junior Trophy Team. Keep up with DeLong and the American team by liking us on Facebook! (Husqvarna Motorcycles NA).

These guys are really kicking some butt .. Keep up the fast riding!

I posted this following comment in another thread, but don't think it hurts to post again. Husqvarna and FAR should be proud to have these guys, and Nick is a true stand up guy. We traveled down from the great white north ourselves (Ontario, Canada) since our race series FMSQ wrapped up early this year along with a bunch of other local riders. All who did very well, and experienced a great time!

I wanted to give a special mention on how much of a class act Nick Davis is! We met him Friday night while having a party, next to his parents RV. He would make a point to speak with us anytime we saw him through the weekend, and would give our kids encouragement prior/after their races in PeeWee and the Mini's. He made sure to tell the kids how great it was for them to make it out to the races, and recognize the work their parents do to get them out there. A real ambassador to the sport. It was great to see him take a place on the podium by the end of the day! Congrats Nick!!!

Cheers,

Dale
