• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Fall / Winter riding in the NW...

I'm sick. I think i like slopping around in the mud more than dealing with dust. Fall riding is in full effect already in the NW, slick rocks covered in clay grease with a layer of snot leaves. Love it. I wonder how many calories are burned up riding this stuff?

I never like dust. Dust makes me sick...I get dust boogers in my eyes and nose and I cough. I love mud. I have fallen down in the worst of it, but somehow I have always managed to keep from getting any up my nose.

That last shot is awesome.:notworthy:

Shrek's gonna be pissed ifn ya keep ridin' that ol left-kicker around his backyard like that w/o permission.

looks like a beaver got part of that tree on the left in the last pic. nice shots.

i hate you.

I also like fall/winter riding better then the hard packed dust covered clay we get in the summer. Give me three weeks of heavy rain and I consider the trails to be perfect.

And I don't mind the white dust either...

(Sorry about the YZ and KX pics but I don't have any mud pics of my WR yet.)

Yep, I'm with you, Kelly

Dirt riding season is just getting started around these parts :applause:
The moisture content was just right on Saturday :D

Yep its now dusty in Oz. Did a 2 day ride with mates in the Watagans. 36 C both days and dusty as all get out. Come on Autum. I really will get to the NW USA one day and ride there, same as Vancouver-been there skiing but I recon the riding in those parts either side of the boarder would be a real joy.

Best thing about riding in western Montana is that you so seldom run into other riders that dust is rarely a factor other than the guy in front of you. Dust isn't usually bad even in the driest summer.

Yep, I totally agree this is the best time to ride up here. In fact in a couple weeks I'm riding from Seattle to Yuma AZ, and I ain't comin back!

I'm sitting on my bike taking the pics

I know that but from the safetey of the fringes. Bulldog like a nutcase right through the middle. You could call it a waterproofing and a chain and sprocket durability test.

Or you could call it a possible snorkeling adventure.:D

Woodschick,

How did the two WR's get along? Sibling rivalry? :)

The 250 thinks it's the best looking bike on the block but my 144 knows the score

Eric and I would be mortal dangers to each other if we were on the same bike

I'll post a ride report today if I can get out of bed and sit up straight long enough to get it done... (cough-cough-snurf-sniffle)

What?? Are you admitting publicly that you don't read each and every one of my posts daily? I don't believe it...

Yeah, Eric got a leftover `09 WR250 from Bill in Salem. He wanted a 300 at first but he had a great time on the 250 the Wagonwheel Tours guys so graciously let him ride up at China Hat. Now we have just as many Huskys as we do GasGases and my ride reports will look a lot better :D
