• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Factory Connection BCV Cup Kit for 4CS

Willlyons

Husqvarna
AA Class
I just got my forks back from Factory Connection with their latest valving updates and I must say, it's like butter. All harshness is gone, and I can now ride without wondering if that rock is gonna throw me off. I highly recommend it as yet another suspension option for the 4CS.

I saw that Factory Connection has been R&D-ing their own "fix" for the 4CS system. Great news to hear another option. I was a go to FC guy for a long time, Ziggy and co. build great stuff.

So what is Factory Connection's take on it. I saw the ad on the factory connection/wp site but there is no explanation of how their BCV cup works. I would prefer to stay with FC because of past experiences but would like to know if their work is a re-engineering like Kreft and Zipty or a fix that leaves adjusters stock (rebound in one leg and compression in the other)

Good thing about Factory Connection, they are an official WP dealer/service center/distributor. And no I dont know what they do to the 4CS with their updates

Factory Connections website just says their valves are a must have for the 4cs...atleast zipty, stillwell, and mx tech say why/how it works. Im not saying they're bad but I'd rather send it to people that are a little more open about what they're doing different

The owner of the dealership where I picked up my TE300 told me to send them to FC and just have them copy what they did for his. He had a huge grin on his face as he raved about how great his forks are. I too would like to know what they did. One of the KTM NA guys is my neighbor and he's used FC a lot in the past. I haven't talked to him lately, but he's supposed to come over and help me with some setup. I'm hoping he knows what they do to the 4CS.

Being they are secretive, it must mean it's an easy mod that an average owner could achieve, otherwise they'd be more forthcoming imho.

How about communicating, like actually calling them...talking with the FC guys about their 4CS set up..I'm sure there will be some sort of exchange. They were always very clear in all my past dealings with them.

Yeah, Jeremy in NH who I talked to explained it to me but I don't know much about forks and I asked him "Is it worth it?" to which (of course) he said "absolutely.") I will admit I experienced a bit of sticker shock, however, I forgot about all of that as soon as I swung a leg over and started riding. Felt like a completely different bike almost. It literally just eats up whatever is in front of it at any speed. Didn't bottom, but never deflected, literally, as if they dumped out the entire contents of both fork legs and filled them with clouds.

You mean like mano e mano, voice to voice, real time audible conversation, accents and all the little nuances of live speech and all that stuff? Surely you jest!

Actually I just got off the phone with them and got a good explanation of what they do. The BCV (bending cup valve) is something they install to enhance valving options, tunability and effectiveness. They revalve all the 4CS circuits and have been able to keep the forks plush yet up in the stroke and stop that blow through. I found out they are still doing my NETRA friend's suspension work so I have to talk to him to see how pleased he is. My dealer sure loves it.

Talked to another northeast owner of Factory Connection modified 4CS forks today and heard the same "best forks ever" response. Sounds like these guys have the rocks and roots dialed pretty well.

Mxtech is $700 for the parts plus labor. That is with huckvalves. It's called the asymmetrical system. You may be able to skip the Huck Valves but I wouldn't recommend it since they add to the overall awesomeness.

Thanks. I sure don't want to skimp on anything that will allow me ride the bike; right now it just sits in the garage. Were you happy with the turn around time?

I got new springs, BCV cup kit, and all new seals in my forks and rear shock (minus BCV for the shock) and they billed me $786, which included shipping back to me. I think I spent close to $100 to ship them to them (NH). My forks and shock had been sent to FC before by the previous owner, not sure if this influenced the cost or not, but they basically did everything over. I think I sent them in on a Monday and was ready to ride the next Saturday.
