  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

hay new to this stuff..but bought a 2009 te 510 after 5 ktms so far love it...:applause: can any one let me know who makes a full exhaust system ??? or recomend one that is good for my bike....and any thing i need to watch on this bike ????????? thnxs mark

I've got no idea, perhaps someone else does.

I will move this into the 4st forum where you might get a better response to your thread.

A exhaust isnt at all necessary since you have a 09. You should do the power up if you haven't yet.

If you must get one uptite makes a great one but you will have to mess with the fuel injection after changing that pipe.

Stock exhaust is OK but heavy. Leovinci or Arrow may list something.
Or you could open up the can and take out the heatsheild that makes it heavier than it needs to be.
Also leave the insert in the end but cut it down to about 1 inch protruding into the can.
There is no HP gain with it removed and the noise just hurts your ears after a while and annoys the neighbours.I have fitted the hi flow impellar, samco hoses without the plastic T piece and left the fan on. They do run pretty hot at times.
Revalved the suspension by WER and fitted the trusty WER Steering damper.
Enjoy, its an awesome bike!

How do you like the impeller and samco hoses? I have been tossing around the idea of getting the hoses, but not sure if they are worth it.

Just installed the latest red CV4 hoses with the molded in split they fit well and the set is very well manufactured, as are all CV4 products. I have had CV4 hoses on my 06 TE450(Blu) and the original type Red ones with the tee fitting (eldon james GFBN type) on my 08. With my rebuild I installed the latest molded tee hose set. These sil hoses are basically a bullet proofing/bling mod, the OEM hoses are good, but I believe(no scienfic proof) the spec on these aftermarket hoses is higher (they look and feel heavier) for temp and pressure. Also installed the latest updated impeller and housing, cant feel that mod, but its just there now.

They are worth changing as there were issues with the stock hoses splitting. I run a 1.6bar cap with the bottle removed so I didn't want to risk them. Make sure you get the set that doesn't use a separate T piece. Its the weak link!
The impeller was so cheap it was a must really. Not sure if it makes such a big difference but cant be any worse.
:)

I have read that Husky fixed the issues with the hoses (mostly related to the Tee) on the 2010 models. I haven't read about the impellers. Is that a 09 thing to or is it relevant to 2010's?
