Pro Class
Dear mr bmvarna, just thought id drop you a line to say i fixed your crappy speedo(trailtech endurance ii-perfect), replaced your crappy cable clutch(magura hydro kit-again perfect) & will soon fix your crappy carby(lectron-soon to find out if perfect). admittedly i didnt have too many issues with the mikuni but the general consensus is its dated/fiddly & a general pain in the arse re jetting. i didnt mind paying for these upgrades but would prefer if they came stock. but i digress, i have 5 simple solutions to make your/our/my 250/300 king of the class or at least up there with the rest. i am no racer but know what i want, what i like & what we need. 1. please be so kind as to slot the 'old' 6 speed box back in(wouldnt cost bugger all in terms of engineering/production-already done & surely you still have some on the warehouse shelves?!). 2. please be ever so kind as to bury all the sachs shocks in a large hole somewhere in the desert & stick a KYB in the bikes(again, not expensive surely, rest of the range runs em?!). 3. if its not too much trouble can you please 'engineer' an 11-12L clear tank(or black with clear strip & 3L level marks ala GasGas) thats not top heavy or affect the great plug access?! seriously you guys could smuggle wombats in the available space there! 4. while youre at it a map switch/PV adjustment/torque controller of some description(again not that expensive surely?!) & 5. an updated chassis(this is for the masses as im not that good a rider that i think id notice that much difference really, but hey youre paying, or maybe we will be?). simple, fairly cost effective enhancements i would have thought. if you feel its necessary to increase the new bike price by $500 or so then thats cool with me if you give me the above listed items. if you throw in the hydro clutch, lectron & trailtech ill sling you another $500 no dramas whatsoever, call it an even $1200 all up lets say(the economy is tough for all i understand). still be a grand or 2 cheaper than the pumpkins(in OZ)! However, i forbid you to touch the engine itself(unless you can make it lighter without affecting power/reliability) or bolt some hideous looking estart on the side of it that looks like a tumour(optional only tumours...sorry estarts)! no exceptions. dont make it a little bike either, keep it tall(maybe with an optional short arse version :-)) & would it kill you to throw in a nickel plated pipe so we can keep up with the cool kids & look flash as a rat with a gold tooth?! do these things(or even half of these things) & ill never look at a GasGas or KTM again(well ill look but i swear i wont touch, honestly). piece of cake really. i await my job offer for chief supervising manager of 250/300 2T production(just pay me in bikes!). thanks in advance. Shawry
