• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Extended shifters

85KTM500

Husqvarna
AA Class
Anyone know who carries shifters that are at least 10mm longer than the stock one on my te510, I am a size 12 boot and it's difficult to shift with my existing one, any leads will help, thanks.

I was on hammerhead earlier and they don't have a Husqvarna section, unless I read it wrong. Are their other bike shifters that will fit onto the husky? I know that KTMs wont they have a really off the wall system on there bikes.

Uptite racing has one that fits at +10 mm. Was on one of mh first rides of the year and I think I have overdone it with a plus 20 mm and size 11 boots. I also got the 3/4" width one and am wondering if I shouldn't have went 1 1/4" as the top of my riding boot is fairly round.

The crf450 model one will fit, and when you say it isn't perfect do you mean you still have trouble shifting? I just had the catches in neutral I get sometimes. Im wondering if the moose shifters for the Jap bikes work, anyone know if they mount on stock huskys

If your looking for a whole shifter motorsports has them for $ 35. I think they are driven shifters

Yeah, I would still have liked a little more room to get under it. I ended up with 3 different things to help. The +20 tip, 5mm lowered footpegs (very little difference, really), and I bought Sidi Crossfire TA's which have a lower toe box than the Alpinestar Tech 3 boots that I was using. Love the feel of the boots, apart from the lower toe box, so I was happy with that regardless.

It would have been great if I could've raised the shifter a spline, but even one spline meant the shifter was hitting the chain when upshifting.

Overall, I only have the occasional accidental neutral now. It used to happen quite a bit and cost me a couple spills.

I love the Sidi Crossfire boots. I dumped the other day, pretty nasty spill and I told myself it was finally time to order a new one but it seems like the stock shifter has an odd bend to in. Did you mount that +20 tip onto that rfx shifter, and what's their website. Ill have to keep shopping around.

Yeah, the +20 went on to the rfx shifter. I had to drill it slightly. I just checked and I made a mistake about the price. It was £17.

I had ordered a Renthal 12t front sprocket earlier and they had free shipping worldwide, so that came to around $17. When I ordered the shifter a couple of weeks later, the shipping was around £5.

Both were from DirtBikeBitz.com. Here's the shifter (price has gone up a bit): http://www.dirtbikebitz.com/rfx-gear-lever-pedals-husqvarna-p-8267.html

You're welcome. Yes, they are UK based.

I was very happy dealing with them. My parts arrived very quickly and hassle-free.

Hi guys I'm used to using my TCX Street Boots on my 2004 Husky 450 SMR, however it is all worn out now and I recently bought a size 8 Fly Racing Maverik Boots (cuz I was on a tight budget, that's why) now I cannot shift at all. Was wondering if the rfx shifter or any shifter that is extendable adjustable etc would be the way to go. Any advice?

I have the Maverik Boots as well, although mine are a size 12. Like I said I still have the stock shifter on my 09 te510 and I get the occasional crummy shift, or catch in neutral. I'm probably gona order the +20mm tip from hammerhead, drill out the rivet and hope for the best. Don't know if I helped you any but that's my plan. I can deal with the stock shifter and my boots, but I figured why not make it more convenient.
