• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

WOW. Just got back from what rates as a top 2-3 ride trip for me. We rode epic high eastern cascade range stuff and it was awesome. One area I ahd been to before and wanted to show some ride buddies. Blake and Brandon from this site came and with my bike meant 3 165cc huskys with Lectron carbs. Other buddy Ken was on a KTM 350. Zero flats or machanicals. No wrecks that caused issues. Just freaking FUN. this area delivers the goods. 4000 foot 10 miles climbs to ridge tops, gnarly rocky switchbacks, smooth clean switchbacks, up, down, up, down. Bet we did 300 plus switchbacks EZ. Over one epic pass tot he next HUGE valley. Was amazing. Great people, great bikes, great area. All that was missing was a few key freinds that could not make it. I will be back for sure. Epic I tell ya.

Day one,

find our most excellent cabin for the night

This leads up to the top and the ridge trail. We are at 6400 feet after climbing 4000 feet. Look at the map and see a 7400 mountain to ride up. We do that and it is probably the single funnest 40 plus switchbacks i have ever done. Hiker quality trails and perfect layout. I was literally laughing out loud as I rode it in disbelief.

then we come back down and shit starts to get serious :>) Wish I had more pix of the next section, was an amazing trail that drops into this huge granite shale switchback valley, around tot he right, than 30 switchbacks back to the top and almost to the start of the trail again but 300 feet up a cliff we started on but the other side of it. Amazing.

I'll ride this area again for sure.

So we have a VERY good first day and set off for the next area. It is the ridge behind me in the dolphin picture but takes about an hour to get to as it is on the other side of the HUGE lake. I have ridden this area once before and why I am back in this area looking for more. This area is rocky and technical in a lot of places and flowing and freaking amazing in other places. All three ride areas we did were crazy varied, some of everything from deep woods to exposed cliffs. Endless rocks to groomed hiker trail, it has it all.

Lets do this

Note trail in the middle of those rocks, this is a long rocky decent or climb.

Day three was my in my master plan as an EZer short rip on the way home. Boy did it deliver. I have never seen so much perfectly groomed single track in my life. One trail was 17 miles of perfectly groomed flowing single track nirvana. Was a perfect end it a great ride trip.

Blake and I

this is a good one. Brandon was leading, he stopped at an intersection, Blake thought it would be fun to come in hot and slide to a stop, it got away from him. I rounded the corner to see a dust cloud and blake on the ground so I did the same and purposely tossed my bike into a wild slide and crash, Ken rounds the corner to see it and joins in. (note skid marks) This is what choosing the right friends is all about

Great place you've got there**************************************** Just beautiful. I love this type of terrain! Great shots.

Crazy fun trip!
Great riding, great people and great times. From Ken battling rodents to Blake getting hitched and even girls with no underpants. It was a rocking weekend.

I'm waiting for Blake to get home so I can retrieve my footage from his laptop. I'll add some stuff later.

You guys are getting me pumped! Must have been even gnarlier in person for it to look that cool on video, haha. Thanks for sharing!

LOL. Ken @ 9:15.
Oh man... what a fun day that was.

Here's a little clip from Friday's ride
