• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Epic day in the dez on my 511

Got tired of waiting for the snow and rain to go away and made the 400 mile round day trip to central Oregon for some dez riding. We nailed it condition wise, 45 and sunny with damp dez floor. Epic. Hammered out 85 fast miles. No crashes, no issues, perfect day.

BTW buddy Travis with the KTM 350 proclaimed the 511 sets new standards for controllable power. Said he has never ridden such a powerful bike that was so EZ to control. He owned a CRF450 before the KTM 350. Good stuff.

On the way down off the south side of MT hood...

Sweet dirt with perfect bermed corners were the norm for the day. Lots of 4-6th gear high speed stuff this day.

I miss my TE 449 SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much! Stupidest sale in my entire life! It truly was the perfect "do everything" bike. I think I'll retire to the garage and kick my own ass.

didn't need them for this day but they are nice for a lot of rides. I care less about looks and more about comfort and function.

I am just teasin' no offense meant, there is no way I would go without mine either. They all just remind me of my childhood when they are black in color. :)

Trust me Kelly, I have been thinking about this A LOT. If I could roll back time and take back my 449 I would do it. I was so stupid for getting rid of that bike on a compulsive whim.

I think we have all been there many times. I want my 02 570 back.

Have to agree on the controllable power aspect of the 511 with PCV

Kelley,
Is that China Hat or 4 corners ? How does your dialed in 511 compare to my 449 ?

4 corners.

511 is faster and suspension is very good. Liked your bike a lot but mine is setup for me and like the damper and suspension and power more out there.
