  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc electric start wr?

You don't need one either.
These things start just fine once you get the procedure.
Electric start such as on the KTM only ad weight and half the time they don't work.

Might be daft but what is the hot start procedure on the WR250 (2008)? as mine is a nightmare. It needed the plug pulling every time plus a few kicks with the plug out. I have just finished setting it up, neddel clip is now on #1 as was too rich on #2. 27.5 pilot and 380 main with 1.5 turns out on the air screw.

Hot starting iseu on a 2 stroke is normally a jetting problem
Check your carb settIngs when your bike is hot especially the lower circuits of the carb

The Lectron did it for me on hot starts. With the mukini, it would fire right up cold every time but when hot, it was a kicker. May have been too rich. But with the Lectron, hot or cold dont matter. It fires right up.

Thanks for the info guys. I've heard a lot about the lectron carb.. has anyone got any links to suppliers either uk or who ship to the Uk?.

There is room in the current 125 for the addition of an electric start. Would be to involved for a small production but if they had wanted to make it for the euro sm's and wre's it was possible.

Yep - its for the wr. Will give an update. From all the rave reviews i think ive done the right thing. Was fed up ofthe bike not starting well when hot and with no e start it was getting beyond a joke.. Plus im no jetting wizzard :)

yeh im along the same lines but i am strapped for cash 24/8 so need a very good reason to blow £300 on a carb unless its lightyears ahead of std, im no race king and mine works well just if it opend up top end and easy 1 kick i would raise the compression on it, more engineering than jetting..
