• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I heard Husqvarna is working on an electric motorcycle. Rumor? Has anyone in CH land heard any such grumblings?

My source might surprise you...

There was a local area cross track in Lincoln, CA (Speed Factory). Where you could rent these electric MXers. Some guys really loved them.

The Quantya's have a Husky connection... They are assembled in CH Racing's plant. Fabrizo Azzullin builds small specialty motorcycles under contract, besides running the Husky Factory Enduro and Super Moto Teams. CH Racing built the old Husky 50's and continued to market them under the CH logo when husky dropped them.

The source I was talking about was Zero. I was doing a job at Zero headquarters and was chatting with a guy who said that Husqvarna was working on an electric motorcycle.
I can see the future of motorcycling go electric street and dirt alike. Personally I would lose a lot of satisfaction silently exploding a loamy berm.

The down side is the price. The Quantya is around 9K. How much is the Zero going for?
Anyway, I bet you most company's are working on electric bikes behind the scenes. The two guys who i know, who rented the Quantya, said they would make "zooom, Braapp," sounds as they were riding....

I believe the Zeros cost is in the 6K to 7.5K area. I must say the first time I rode one was on pavement and they have such sudden power I almost looped it out. These things are great fun to ride.

I hope not as I would have to say....... NO THANKS, I like my pollution machine just the way it smokes.

I reported on the first 24 hours race Zero did at the 408mx track a while ago. Got to meet some interesting people, including the founder.

Perhaps they were referring to Scot joining them? "Making an electric Husky".

Didn't Scot Harden just go to Zero to be the VP of Global Marketing? Maybe there is a connection???

I bet that IS the connection which really is not a connection just a higher level dude from husky going to Zero.
