  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

doesnt look like they make a kit for the ty80, unless a yz item crosses, or an individual item will fix it..

We have both the internal rotor systems (STK018) and the external rotor units with lighting coils(STK185L) in stock and have been using them for about 4 years now....

Andy.

Troy, I have just fitted one of the HVA Factory supplied Electrex kits. It comes with a backing plate. I junked my old stator and plates. Have a look at the pictures on the 390 Auto build thread. My kit was the STK185L
The supplied ignition instructions are simplicity itself. Connection of the two lights supply wires was a different matter.
But that is sorted now.

what about the flywheel Justins pix shows a flywheel is it keyed? are you running lights do you need a regulator

Every thing you need is in the box Troy. The flywheel as supplied in the kit has two keyways cut. ( I think that is an HVA special) Which ever slot suits you best. Yes I run lights. Yes, you do need a regulator. That is also supplied in the kit. As is a new flywheel nut, kill switch and wiring, coil mounting bracket, various nuts and bolts etc.

do i need to spend like 9 bucks on HVAs ignition cover gasket is it reusable i pm'd Andy then thought about what time it is there the card is in my hand do i get the gasket:excuseme::banghead:

if you are getting his cover yes i would recommend the gasket...or two. i glued mine to the cover so its reusuable. i got the new cast version of the cover and its like a factory item, very sweet. if you just are using the plastic cover they are usually warped so i just rtv those...there are a few things andy has that are "must order" if you are going thru the trouble of placing an order with him.

protect that new electrex! (geez i should get a discount!)
