• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I'm looking at getting one for my 310. Does anyone have one, and how do you like it? Do you still need a clutch lever? Is there an rpm engaugement adjustment? And after initial setup, how often does it need to be readjusted? Thanks Jeff

The one I have on my WR 360 has been plug and play. The only issue it ever had was when I ripped a rad hose and lost all my coolant 25 miles from anything. I didn't even know I was running without coolant for at least 15 miles until it didn't want to idle(HOT). I had only hit one tree on the entire ride so it was easy to pin point the incident. After I made repairs the clutch seemed to drag slightly and not want to start in gear. All other function was normal. Decided to pull everything down and check for issues. Only thing affected on the entire motor was 2 warped steel plates in the clutch. Amsoil and Husky 2 stroke motors are bullet proof.

I have never felt the need to adjust the engagement rpm or rate on the EFM. It has been just right for me. Garry at EFM does include different wave springs and spacers with his kit, but I have never felt the need to change anything. Clutch operation remains and will generally feel lighter than stock. Remember that an auto clutch has virtually no resistance when not running or idling. Once the balls are forced out by centrifical force the clutch operates just like a stock clutch. My 360 had a very stiff pulling clutch stock and now it pulls like a 125. The EFM I just installed on my 125 pulls just like a good hydraulic clutch.

The EFM auto clutch is a quality piece and equivalent to the Reckluse pro. The Rekluse has more adjustability with both different springs and the ability to use tungsten carbide balls to change engagement characteristics.

I was really hoping to try mine out in the final enduro of the season tomorrow, but the clutch cover spacer must be on backorder or something. That, and Garry was out of the shop all last week. No doubt the clutch will arrive on my doorstep Monday after the race. Oh, well. I guess I'll just have to ride the TE 300.:)
