• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Been slackn’ in the roving reporter responsibilities…

We have hit two ECEA hare scrambles, Rocket on 6/5 and RORR on 6/19.

Rocket 6/5… At Rocket Raceway in the central Pa foothills.

Rocket was another mud fest. Rained up to and on my start at 10am but held off for the balance of the am race. Skies looked better for the 1pm race but half way thru it dumped and continued to just be sloppy.

Andy on the TC250 was second off the line (second lime green guy) and second into the woods. It turned into a real survival run and he ended up 5th in 250A and 21st overall.

Me on my XC took a long awaited 1st in B Super Senior 50+ and 14th OA in the morning race.

Reading Off Road Riders 6/19… In coal country near Tamaqua Pa.

Hot and humid; single track was perfect, but open stuff was dusty…

Andy on the TC250 - DNF. 2nd lap around; I think he was running 5th; he pulled in and said he was smelling oil burning. Good call, the countershaft o-ring/seal was leaking bad enough that the chain was slinging oil onto the pipe and burning. Done for the day…
