• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Ebay Part-out

Livin' It Up!
Someone, maybe a member, is parting out a 2011 TE630 on Ebay, in case someone wants wheels, other parts. I purchased the clutch basket so that I can do the spring cup mod before taking the bike apart. Hope the basket ears are not too worn (only 6500 miles on it). I will smooth them out in the process.

I bought the handlebars and the rear brake lever/pedal from that seller. I want to try to "improve" the rear brake lever/pedal and this was an excellent and inexpensive opportunity to experiment. I bought the handlebars because they were straight, I like the bend of the stock bars and they were 1/3 the cost of protapers.

I don't think it is a member parting the bike out. Based on his other auction listings, he seems to be a cycle salvage or someone who buys good bikes to part out (they are worth more as parts than as bikes).

This was my idea also. I had a long list of spares from his part out and tried to negotiate package deal pricing. But that was after his listings had been up for less than a day and he wasn't wiggling much on price so I ended up buying only the seat and battery. I will do a custom Seat Concepts but want to retain my stock seat also for single track. Been looking for a used seat pan for two years without success so wasn't letting that one slip by. Seat was perfect also so will have a spare cover for my stocker if I ever shred it up.

my buddy is looking for a te ecu how much?

My used clutch basket arrived yesterday and I hope the one in my bike looks as good! No noticeable wear on the spring cups and only slight marks on the basket fingers. I may take a stroke or two with a fine file on the edges but that's all. I will still take it apart and install the improved spring cups. The seller said that the donor bike had 6500 miles.
