• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Another all expense paid racing trip to Negros Island ... Accommodations were top notch again for this race and our 2-day hotel lodging was across the street from the track ... Too freggin' cool ... Robinson Mall just outta sight to the left of the hotel ...

The racing on my 010 TC250 went a little better ...I might have scored my first SX point maybe ... Ayen riding my 08 WR250 had a few issues but managed to score some points again and had a couple pretty good battles in his races ..

Thats the GO Hotel at the track ...

The 08 WR250 in the waiting area ... These guys ran a very tight race .. First, the bike goes into this area outside the track.

After the waiting area, the bikes are rolled into the staging area waiting to get into the starting gate ... First come, first served here..

Here the 08 WR250 is staged first ...meaning, we rolled out bike to the waiting area 1st:) ... Lots of riders in this class so a good gate pick is needed ...

Some racing ...

Not sure who this #39 honda rider is but he and Ayen had quite a battle for 1st place (Open Enduro?)... He was doubling a couple places where Ayen was not so we had to make up the times in the corners and in the smaller rhythm section.

This was some cool racing seeing Ayen battling this guy in this section ...

This sequence is on the video below ...This is not how Ayen usually rides ... Not sure what happened making the front end just climb and climb but it worked out well for both riders..

It looks like on video that the rider behind Ayen had no chance to miss him on the ground BUT the guy laid his bike over as soon as it hit the ground to avoid hitting him ...Ayen_JMP_Crash3_DUM.jpg

A few more racing pics of their PRO class riders ..

Glenn Aguilar(#1) and Jon Jon Adlawan (#3) .. Jon Jon is the guy Husky should put on a bike here ... Glenn has the ktm ride covered and Jon Jon is the up and coming rider who can place the Husky in the top racers also.

Some video ...

I'm calling this a hole shot for me ... I got to pick a early gate choice and took the extreme inside ... 3rd place was about locked in this race till I stalled the engine towards the end of the race ...
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqLsgLa6GNE

I'm still lacking some here ... I jump out the gate OK but still, I did not pin the bike and I'm thinking that is why I get caught towards the first corner ... Still not using the front brake to capacity also is a downer ....

At the end of the rhythm after the first turn, Ayen jumped on top of a rider who changed lanes after he was airborne and jumped on top of the guy ... Ayen then was run over by the guy behind him ... I was just starting my bike and looked up and saw all that action and decided to get my bike started and roll down there for a better look at what happened .. The rider Ayen jumped on was carried off but he was OK..

Here are the pics of Ayen's back ...I have not saw knobby tracks on any ones back for several yrs .... And he has that big knot on his left eye brow ...This was well before he crashed going over the jump shown above ...So, it was a rough days ride but all worked out well ...

That's some good stuff Ray, I kinda liked the bamboo fence posts on the one pic....

Really cool riding on these tracks ... I'd like to have one of these close to ride each week ...I could break each section down and learn how to ride them at a higher speed ..

Bamboo is about as essential as air, rice, and water here ... You can go cut your own as it grows everywhere or pay the low low price for it ... Doesn't last too long but at these prices, that is not too much of an issue ...
