• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Drew,

Watched the John Penton movie! Are you a star now????????

I see your name on the Isde winners in background. Is that you in the film on the Suzuki PE 175?

If it is! We gonna have to come to the North East gathering and line up for autographs!

So you have some questions to answer ?

Sorry Drew, didn't mean to put you on the spot! Just reminded me of your accomplishments and also your stand up contribution, that you have given as well and to the sport!

When watching the John Penton movie, there was a heck of a lot that I did not know!

Do we have some racing heroes here? We "gots" to know?

What penton movie is this, DVD?

It is the new John Penton movie that was just released on Blu Ray and also Dvd.

Couple of my friends bought their Pentons from John's Shop.

But I am sure that I saw a picture of Drew on his PE 175. He will have to verify?

I recommend, to watch the movie. It is very interesting.

I have ridden the ISDT/ISDE 20 times 7 gold metals Finished 18 times. Was a member of Suzuki's Enduro team, I have served as U.S.A. ISDE trophy team manager many times between 2000 & 2005. I have worked in the motorcycle industry as an R&D test rider for Suzuki and Honda.

entering 20 and finishing 18 times is quite the accomplishment. let alone the golds. most riders here including myself dont know what that takes, but we respect it and are glad to have your services

That's why he is so good doing suspension. Because of all his experience he has that he can apply.

Drew also helps a lot of people behind the scenes in the sport!

Just makes you realize what a lot of these guys accomplished that we benefit from now.

Great movie - complete history with all tied end with Husqvarna of course.

Lucky to have a couple of beers with the maker and backer of the movie who lives right here in Austin M jack Martin. How about not only spending the time
with Jack but traveling with him and his son to Austria to visit the KTM factory.

Shocking to me is how many came out to see this movie right here in Austin. Was a packed house down at the Alamo draft house theater at the special showings.

Don't let Drew fool you with that "long time since I've done my best riding" baloney!
It's all relative to the era of course, but any of you that have seen Drew ride recently...on a modern bike...or better yet on a Vintage Husky...will know that he is STILL one of the best...and smoothest... riders out there!
It runs in the Smith family!
