  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Does autoclutch turn wr300 into cheater bike?

I must say after a year on my 300 and spending almost $700 no suspension the bike is "almost" darn near perfect. Except most the stuff I ride is super tight technical suff in the NW. The clutch has always been an anoyance as I get arm pump some days bad and am on the clutch endlessly. Is the auto clutch just make this bike an absolute cheater bike as I supect? This is the only possible upgrade I can see doing at this point. I have just about every single accessorie out there on it now - lol

i have rekluse pro on a 2011 wr 300. even easier to ride to me than my txc 450. just did sandlapper national enduro a week or two ago. i was way back in row 100 and i got better results the farther along i went. just put it in third gear and steer. the ultimate cheater motor with the clutch. stil has more than enough snap when you need it and im 230 lbs

You don't have to worry starting because it will never die. It will bump start if you have enough speed to get the clutch to bite.

BTW- check the classifieds, I think I saw one on here the other day.

Was wondering about the Rekluse... can you still clutch it at all times to get the front wheel up? I saw that Madfish posted "put it in third and steer"... sounds great!!! I was wondering about the rekluse... I looked at a few pics and it reminds me of the auto clutches in my children's bikes. ?Can you still pull in the clutch when the ball bearings are spinning fast... or better said ... when you're on the pipe?

Got one on the KTM 200 and it's so much fun I can't believe it. Yes, you can still manually clutch and pop over obstacles.

Turns all bikes into cheater bikes! I know.

Must say that I think Motorhead is wrong **************************************** All the ones I have fitted to various machines will definatly NOT bump start! All of the ones I have dealt with are the Z start pro versions not the later Core type but I stand to be corrected
In my view all bikes should come fitted with them as I love riding with them, my last ride I did on a WR 125 and boy did I get left hand cramp fanning that left lever all day , all the years of hardly ever touching the clutch has definatly made my left hand real lazy lol

The auto clutch might be better for a 4st that tends to flame out and stall.

My Wr250 never really stalls and when it does in bumps right back. My 4st is another story!

Autoclutchs are not for everyone. I tried a couple on different bikes and hated them. Much easier for me to just use the manual clutch.

Dwight,
We're you using them on 125's or larger bikes? I could see them not working well on smaller motors.
