• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Do you have a Motosportz skid plate?

Sorry man, building the next batch as fast as we can. Little backed up with other stuff as it is crazy season. thanks. Good luck.

I like mine. Just wish it had more frame coverage.

They need to sell an option like the one I made:

I ride more dirt than pavement and my frame was already getting pitted bad, so I had to adapt.

I wonder if that clear vinyl stuff they use for the front of cars woulda helped the frame pitting issue?

No, it was some serious deep pitting. It looked like someone had been shooting the frame with a .22.
Next time I have this off I should take a pic.

On 2nd thought, a few weeks of commuting and the plate I added should have it too. I'll post a pic of that.

I finally got mine installed and there is no freakin way I'm giving mine up! I don't think I would pull it for a grand. I really wanted to make my own, but I have had some major set backs and have too many other obligations to fulfill and it will have to wait until next winter. No other plate on the market adds as much structural support. On my bike, it looks factory. I will post a better pic when I get one Kelly and show it off nicely.:) Just hang tight Ken.

ummm.... I've been waiting for that for a while. Not sure I meant to 'tease', just happy I finally got it.

price on aluminum, ano and welding went up a little and I underpriced the first batch. Believe me I am not retiring over these :>)
I've got a hunch you plate has more value than you realize... Think I'll start another thread about that sometime in the next couple of weeks...
