• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

District 37 Desert Jackrabbits Video

XPDRS Niice!!!

John, That was a nice course lots of dez single track and good hill technicals. for those who dont know the hills out there are very steep and unforgiving and all those trail hack rocks beat you down. good plush intial suspension valving is good out there, but you need some stuff that can eat whoops too. nice course!!

I like the mocking of people that "need electric start" lol. Seriously though, great video! Looks like a lot of fun

I like the new transponders. We have an all new scoring system now too.
Down hill was definitely rocky, didn't look too nasty, not like desert daisy's switch-back cliff dive I went down...

What a beautiful sound track..... I talk to myself too, it's usually stuff like " Ya dummy, what did ya do that for? & don't do it again"

There is nothing better then the sound of a 2 stroke then add in the smell of race gas and burning oil Well you now But soon the smell will be gone as Husky is working on
a cleaner burning motor

You can see I started it in netural because with 20/50 oil and under 30 degrees it was easier then trying it in gear a button might have solved that but then i would have had to carrie it all day the starter and battery

Great video!
Looks like a nice workout for the new Ohlins. How did they do?

They worked great According to moto tally i passes 9 experts on loop 2 loop 2 was where all the rocks were and the suspention worked nice Loop 1 was lot of fast open stuff and I just do not like to go fast
in the open stuff For me the expence was well worth it the suspention works great. You can hear the motor also works great With all the talk on here about carbs and other stuff you need to make the Wr 250/300 run better it reminds me of the days when all the WR 125 guys wanted there WR to run like a CR My WR 300 has 2002 CR electronics on it and it runs great Even with a stock carb on it

Nice to hear those Ohlins are working for you.
I just installed the Ohlins TTX shock from David at Fast Bike Suspension. Can't wait to get the forks back from him.

Yep, your 300 sounded like it was running good. Looked like a course with plenty of variety to test the tune.

the smell, that bean oil (napalm) smell, it smells like.....victory. Just rode this weekend, like every weekend with our old school mentor, he added a little 927 maxima to his usual 2T mix just so we could smell that special bean oil mix. nice....

Great way to start work day! The video was awesome - might watch again.

Thanks for posting!

I was just up in Copper City over the weekend riding, drinking, howling at the moon and riding some more.

I dunno that I can get permission from the "front office" to head up but I'll give it a shot. She gets kind of mad over my vanishing during the weekend.
