    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

TE/TC Difference in TC and TE 250?

250 st stroke should start first or 2nd kick everytime.... and to me 10 lbs is a bunch after 3 hours of racing.... but I agree I can love them all equally.... the TE250/300 fits what I do the best so we'll have to see what they say when i get there... lol
 
E start is about 8lbs, replace the stock battery with a lithium ion and save a couple of pounds up high. Want a TE, but hate the idea of E start? Take it off and sell it, or put it aside to reinstall when you sell the bike. Late in a race weight penalty... E start can be a blessing, if you stall on an off camber or hill, that's awkward to kick on, especially late in a race when you're tired.
 
At 66 if I'm alive and still riding I will give in for the magic button!! E start debate is preferance. 8-10 pounds not worth it to me. Not on my worst day. Probably easier to resell the bike later with estart. Most fast guys pull it off and sell itnor reinstall when they sell the bike. If your not Revalving your suspension and going to ride in the woods then I would just get the Te. Big tank flywheel weight better woods suspension. Even in a race I don't want the added weight of a side stand what 2 pounds? They are nice just not in a race....
 
They may push the tc from a sales point. From what I understand KTM is very controlling and dictates a lot of what they have to take etc... Buy the one you like best! For me I just didnt want a bike that had estart to start with.... The beta is stupid to me as you can't even buy it without it you have to remove it.... Just like stairs have got shorter steps and wider treads why?? Americans are getting fatter and lazier...I'll kick as long as I can!! But understand the needs for it and if I were buying a four stroke it would be mandatory!
 
My 14 TC250 starts first kick every time. The thing is a beast when you need it but after riding it some I am shocked at how much you can lug the motor. The CC forks work really well and the link in the rear is awesome. It is light and nimble and handles like it is rails. I have the power as tame as you can make it and it will still pull the front tire off the ground at will.

Yesterday I spent 2 hours trying to choose between a '14 TC250, a '14 FC250, and a '14 YZ250f. I ended up buying the FC. After breaking my right femur years ago-the estart sure is nice! Not really needed, but nice.

Back before we began getting fatter and lazyer, the dirt bikes were horses, mules, camels. :-)

Not a bad choice. I would need the estart for a four stroke as well as I suck at finding top dead center etc... Good luck with the bike!!!

With the amount of time elapsed, before the guy who swore he'd never own a KTM Husky, bought a TC250.... You'll have a TE250 long before 66!:oldman: :busted: We love you Fletch!:cheers:
. Ha ha keep in mind I gave fair reviews of the ktm's I rode in recent past. More then likely there is nothing in any posts that says I won't ever ride a ktm\husky. More a wording of dissatisfaction and frustration that a rival company and don't anyone deny they were rivals buying out another company. After a long talk with jay I left with a different perspective that made sense. The Husqvarna marque has been around for over a hundred years and this is just chapter 3. We shall see where it goes. In the spirit of the brand Husqvarna I will give the new crop of bikes a fair unbiased chance. There will be a detailed ride report being truthful and stating the good the bad and the ugly . but norm I won't give in in the restart!! And if I get that old and I'm to fat or out of shape to kick start a 250 I'll switch back to a 125! Lol its all good ...

All is good.... I respect your passion! This is the next chapter and we've been through it all. I figure if I made the transition from Swedish to Italian, I can go Austrian! I guess I did it a little early, with the Husaberg TE250. Enjoy that TC250 and give us the full report. I'm looking forward to my TE125... only a few days away!
 
Unless your riding a left kicker your riding another brand... 90s brought cagivarna followed my bmwvarna with the cagiva motors going all the way to 2012.... so don't let the ktm thing get you all weird...

Ktm I feel did buy it because husaberg never did sell that good.... and they are putting money behind husky so I am happy....

And for me... the ktm varna feels much different than the ktms....
 
Pretty sure my 1985 Husqvarna was right hand kick and nothing to do with Italian. I do remember drooling and I mean drooling over a I think 1988 Husqvarna wrk 125. Italian beauty!!!
 
$5,700 is a steal! Wish halls would of had one would of saved me $1300.... But worth a grand less cause it is a year older anyway I guess.....
