    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Castor calogne has asked me to add a comment to his topic saying his account won't allow him to view or post anything for no apparent reason, he has messaged admin a couple of times but account is useless.

He's now tried to create a new account and made it clear reason was due to current account issues.
 
I'm back after an account hiccup.
- about the frame corrosion under the paint...what good eyes you have. True, reason why I decided to have it blasted clean, treat it then have it redone in 2pac. Nothing deep or active.

- the pipe is fugly, agreed. Just can't find a NOS Cagiva PN# c-h-59100 pipe. Have a bashed in one with good neck to play with and two Uptite-Racing pipes from a WMX now also with some minor dents to pop out. I need a rubbish practice pipe. And yes that comment helped ;)

Not allot of progress. Sprockets and brake pads arrived.
Got screwed on the price for sand blasting the frame and soda blasting the engine. Won't elaborate too much, but learned a $150 lesson when asking how much to do the job...get it in writing and don't just say oh OK when jipped.

Spilt trans oil out all over the freshly blasted engine today. Ripper! Now starting to think screw doing a half arsed paint job now and just use it till it breaks and needs a full strip and worry about painting then...any thoughts?

Clean the spilt oil off with brake cleaner let it evaporate off, clear hi temp laquer the lump it will look awesome.
 
Interesting difference in inlet boot design. My original is the scruffy shiny one.

- The one with the small carby side opening yet to be trimmed out is the Aussie import emissions restricted version according to Stefan at Husqvarna R&D (Aus NSW).


- The other NOS one with the already full open carby side inlet and the wide open outlet with a swooping shape is possibly from the WMX? Same Cagiva branding and bolt pattern, just non restricted.

If anyone has seen the wide open version and knows for sure what it was off I'm keen to learn.

Proof will be in the pudding whether it adds anything over the other two performance wise. I would hazard a guess that the wider more open internal diameter will slow flow and increase pressure delivered to the Reeds? Not sure how faster lower pressure vs slower higher pressure will affect responsiveness and or torque on a WR vs CR type engine design (heavier magneto vs lighter).

Access to a dyno would be cool.

The bottom photo angle has a distorted scale. They are all the same bolt pattern and size. Wondering if the wide open one is from a 400-500cc model?

the "medium" one with the oval inlet looks similar to whats on my 95 360...the wide open one is huge...


The first thing Stefan at R&D said was I'd probably want to trim the restricted one a tad...try allot. :D

The original one flows fine, can make the Eco-fwendly one the same with some creative scalpel & dremel work.

Just found the wide open one matched images as seen in a Cagiva WMX250 parts manual. Hope its OK. Soon find out.

for putting together a package of shiny new gold look hardware! 328 screws, nuts, bolts, washers, springs, cotter pin etc (except axles, swingarm bolt and peg springs) Included the low/half head bolts for handle bar clamps. He also threw in two head stem oring seals.

$220aud delivered in 6 days from Italy.

Saved my time and fuel shopping around to just get ripped a new one trying to scrounge locally.

Just waiting on the Titman for wheel assemblies.

A new local mobile media blasting business has a hydro blaster. Considering having the engine done in place of painting. I really do hate painting :/

Don't go in to those shops until the bike is finished...it's like trying to figure out a wiring diagram/harness on the bike and the missus walks in a bikini and asks if you wanna go fruit shopping....don't get distracted:D

I liked it and I wanted it...I'd put a ring on it for sure :O
Very distracting. But lack of 'pre 1990' or 'rolling 25 year' organised events put a little dampener on the enthusiasm.

WRK is waiting for wheels and me to pull my finger out and surface finish the donk.
Close out sales on MY15, think the main differences I noticed between 15 & 16 model was different colour fork protectors and decals, different linkage? And map switch.
Worth $1000?

Asked if they had any insight into what may change for 2017 model. He said a lot. OK meaning?
Possible fuel injection but didn't elaborate on anything else.

Will FI add much to a road/trail rider in fuel economy or power delivery? Or just add complexity I will one day hate if it has issues?

My gut says just buy a 2016. My bank balance says love my WRK till death.
