• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Dealer meeting

dcg141

Husqvarna
AA Class
So the first "Austria" Husqvarna dealer meeting for the US is Sunday and Monday. I can't tell you anymore about what is happening with Husqvarna than what you already know. Hopefully after this weekend there will be some news about the future. My gut feeling is KTM has big plans for Husqvarna. BTW I am not offically a dealer yet but its in the works.

Interesting. One of my riding buddies (a salesman at the local KTM dealer) is headed to their dealer meeting, same place, Monday and Tuesday.

Mike Brown has been the race anywhere, race anything, utility player for KTM in the past, and he's now made the move over to Husqvarna. If they can get the homologation details dialed before Glen Helen, don't be too surprised if he debuts the new Husqvarna at the first round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship at Glen Helen.

That and the dualsport news above makes me optimistic.

I thought the dealer shindig was at The Ranch.

Heard Cahuilla, but could've been the Ranch. why not? The Ranch almost never open. I don't get the fascination w/the place. Still, I'll be there on the 22nd to cheer on my CalVet MX buddies.

I dunno, maybe the meeting was supposed to be a secret and not a promo type of gig.

It was for the dealers, not the public. I love The Ranch because it has the Carlsbad Replica track, which I enjoy riding on. There is also lots of other tracks to ride on, as well as a certain amount of singletrack.

As of late Cahuilla has been epic (yup, I said "epic").

Still, would've been cool to crash the party on an "Italian" Husky.

we rode the carlsbad replica track which is fun.i think cahuilla would have ended up with too many dealers in the emergency room!Cahuilla is on my list of things to do before I cant do it any more.the off road section was not very interesting at all.it got beat to death in about a half hour.the bike that had the longest line all day to ride was the tc 125 motocrosser.I rode it twice and was having a ball on it.the off road bike that seemed to get the most favorable comments was the fe 501.Yes,the new bikes were pretty!unfortunately I could not bring any back with me.Dan

You gotta hit up Cahuilla - it's da bomb! And, I'm not just saying that because it's my local track either. But, then again, so is the Ranch.

Lately the dirt at Cahuilla has been awesome!
