• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Dealer Meeting in a few weeks

ajaxauto

Husqvarna
Pro Class
Thought i might start a thread where we could all post things we hope
Husky might talk about at the meeting
First off i have zero complaints about my 2 TE 510s and my 2 CR 125s
both bikes have been great and perform well for what i ask them to do
That being said a few thing i would like to see talked about

1 When will we see red and white Husky riding gear here in the USA

2 Will there be a new 250/300 2 stroke in the furture and if so please make it a 6 speed .If they are going to make a 250 with a 6 speed i will leave a deposit at the meeting

That is it for me just those 2 things i think Husky has been going great in the last year since the new BMW deal went thru .I have even had no problems with my parts order .So thanks Husky the furture looks good

Just remember red and white gear and a new 2 stroke 250 with a 6 speed is all i ask

Ive been wondering about the meeting too.

Its in Vegas. Nice.

My understanding is there will be some very cool 'entertainment' and not knowing if its cool to say what or not, i wont.

Stuff to talk about?
1) What is the future of Hardinoffroad? Will it be a Husky themed business, and if so what will it be involved with, and what wont it be involved with? Tours? Pits? Racing? Bike releases? Press stuff? Husky demos? Riding school? Other Husky services?

If this is all top secret stuff, ok, not a problem. But if its stuff open for conversation, i would be really curious to know how it will play out. I think many would be curious.

2) Future relations with Cafe Husky?
What (if any) plans does Husky have to be supportive of CH? How might that work out? It was very cool to see the advertisment and to read periodic press releases, posts, etc. Can CH support Husky NA in a more structured way? Again, if its top secret, ok, not a problem. But if its an open subject, i think it would be interesting to understand the vision thing.

3) New bikes in the works. Hey, im going big, might as well just lump em under one question....what can Husky NA tell us in terms of new bike development? Both the methods (in house Husky vs. BMW/Husky collaborations) and the products (bikes)

4) Racing. What if any expansion plans are there for racing?
MX, Baja, Rally, GNCC, etc.
We now have a great 250mx bike. We have a dangling GNCC program, we have openings in baja and rallye for the first time in a generation....what if anything will Husky be doing in these and other race series? Will the current riders continue?

5) New canadian distributor. Whats the latest?

6) Hows it going? A self critique would be interesting. How does Husky NA percieve itself in relation to BMW and to Italy? Plans to hire some more folks in NA? Feeling good about where they are now vs. where they where a year ago?

7) Status of non-bike products for NA? Hardparts? Gear? Schwag?

8) When do the bikes arrive this year?

I know some of these are probably sensitive questions not to be discussed openly, but it never hurts to ask. :excuseme:

the O/A top privateer jake korn is running the XC2 class on his KTM this year, hes tenth O/A and fourth or fifth XC2, it would be a nice fit for husky to hire him ride the new TC250 and dominate next year as hes very young and very fast!!

IMO you want to be very careful about any corporate support, at least from a $$ standpoint. eventually you end up a tool of the corporation. I've been part of websites that were tied to a "major sponsor" I think it stifles free speech a bit. posters get banned to satisfy the sponsor. If someone says something critical they get jumped by the forum click that "runs" the site. etc etc. A good website is a somewhat civilized free fire zone. If coporate/the sponsor don't like it they pizz off.

dealer meeting

i don't know what people are ordering for parts, but some really basic stuff is still hard to come by. just talk to some of the dealers. i think with the crackdown on rules for cheating at BAJA, this would be a great year for husky to gear up and run a multi bike effort, with people like george and privateers like MK. zip - ty perhaps ...:excuseme::excuseme:

I agree, very nice young rider. Hard working......represents well for his local sponsors....comes from a "riding family".......was on GG before KTM, so knows and does well on "non japanese"......not to sound "New England biased" but this young man rides very well and is a good ambassador and role model for any brand.

The only thing that I'm real curious about is that since the 610 is apparently at the end of it's production cycle what are the plans for a replacement.

You guys are right this kid Jake Korn on a 2010 TC250 riding for Husky NA would be a good call in the GNCC XC2 class. I wonder if his ears are ringing yet!!

Anyone from the forum going to the meeting? I am curious to know if the 2010 TE models will have the Kayaba SSS fork? Otherwise I will pick up a 09 model.

I'll be there along with a few other dealers on here.

Kayaba 48mm forks on all the 2010 HSQ's (no Zoke's left in the line up is my understanding)

The TC250 should be here Sept time frame it looks like and then the rest of the models to follow on through Jan much like this year.

Andrew Matusek was also very high in the O/A standings last year as an XC2 rider on a Kawi. Comes from a racing family and has been a privateer this year with still good results at the rounds he's been at. He'd be another good fit for up and coming talent for either XC2 or even XC1

The SSS Kayabas come on Yamaha's and I think the AOSS Kayabas come on the Kawi's. The SSS Kayaba are great forks and usually do not need a revalve even for off road. Not sure if there is a size difference between the fork types.

25th?

Think that's what I heard.

The actual dealers meeting is on the morning of the 26th, but I guess it's an all-weekend event, seeings as how it's in Las Vegas :)

I was looking at your Super Moderator title and it seems a bit of an oxymoron, so I was thinking, in keeping with the times, we should change it to Board Czarina.
