• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

DASHBOARD BROKEN 3 months waiting for.

FER QUILES

Husqvarna
AA Class
One month later afte the purchase, dashboard broken. push buttom does not work anymore.
has blocked trip counter.. 3 months waiting for the new one to replaced and still waiting.. could report anybody same problem?

Good Luck!

I was the first to report a broken rear fender and its still not fixed.:excuseme:
I'm guessing they are arguing over which corporate entity is going to be responsible...

I hope this is not a sign of things to come. I get concerned that an owner in Europe is waiting for this amount of time for components to arrive.

If they replace the dash , you will need to have it programmed with the ECU and Ignition switch. A Moss computer will be required that is programmed to Husky specs. Does you dealer have one?

Cheers

I broke mine in a crash. All functions are ok except tach. Been waiting 6 weeks so far, husky still not able to tell dealer when parts will ship.

Fer quiles,

The dash on the Nuda is identical, but might have a different part number. I wonder if the dealer is able to source a Nuda dash more easily as there might be more stock around for those in Europe since they have been in production longer? I know some Jap manufacturers have a habit of assigning different part numbers for the identical parts on different model bikes and sometimes even different year models of the same bike, so you might go and ask for a widget for a 2008 XYZ1000 and they don't have that in stock and have to put it on backorder, but they might have the same widget for a 2010 XYZ1000 or a 2008 XYZ650 with a different partnumber already sitting on the shelf. Sometimes even the spare parts person at the bike shop doesn't even realise this is the case.

i match your point of view.. apart from the fact of informatic programs must be reprogram the new key.

I hope SPAIN is not too far from casinnetta... Pierer says Casinetta factory is going to suply accesories for next 10 years coming. wait a see!"

This is only for non US models as they have the immobilizer installed. All US models do not have this. Anyone please correct me if I am wrong.

If the tiny chip that's hidden in my key has to do with the immoblizer then we have it too. My bike won't start without a key that has the microchip...or some kinda code encrypted on it that the ECU sees. I believe all the US bikes have this..no?

Could you be mixing up the optional alarm accessory with the bike's embedded immobilizer system? I thought every TR has an immobilizer system, requiring a chipped key and electronics that work with the chipped key.

Yes it does, my dealer could not to replace the dash because , he said to me, the MOSS software is outdated. So the key´s code has to be readen by the dash.
Somebody could report same problem. once the dash is replaced introducing a code to conect them.

Yes, the dash and the ECU and the key are all connected and the new dash cannot be programmed without the MOSS. Its good to hear you received the new dash after so long. I hope you get it all going again soon.

Yes but I do no have idea about how many km my Terra has today.. I calculate 13.000 km since March.. No idea about the fuel average /100km..
I hope software is coming soon to my dealer.. and so ..

As it turns out I am definitely wrong. This weekend we went on a dual sport ride. My buddy was riding his son's TR and dropped it multiple times. Last time he went down, he hit hard, pushed everything up front against the key and he snapped the key head off the key and didn't realize he needed it to start. Needless to say he pushed it down the trail, got to where we had been waiting etc. . We ended up towing it back to parking area and ultimately it started it once home with spare key. Ultimately I am not thrilled about this feature. I will now dual sport or dirt ride having a tether hooked to key head so in the event of a high speed get off etc, if key was to break off, it will remain somewhere on the bike.

One year later tan Terra comes to my hands.. I am called to change finally the dashboard I hope so.. wait and see ..

Any coded parts are at least two months out. My lock cylinder and keys took about 2 months. The head light bucket is still back ordered. Has me worried also. No 2014 models that I've seen here in the states. Looks like KTM is scrapping the competition models. Blows my mind why you would scrap the better model.

It's easily explained really. The TR650 is built almost entirely from BMW parts. BMW have BMW parts. KTM have KTM parts. You can't build a bike with parts you don't have. In fact the best hope of model longevity and parts supply/support for the TR650 would be if Husqvarna sold the right to build it back to BMW, and they put a BMW H650GS © badge on it.
