  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Damn oil filter!!

Forgot to mention when I was doing the oil change on the big and looking in the site glass it has a crack in it wtf can I get a replacement

7602 Racing has them. A site sponser. I think with or without glass. I can vouch for their ignitioncovers

Is this what you are talking about?image.jpg I found it in the te tc txc 450. Mine is a2011 tc 449 will it work my bike though its a 449 and the cover is for a 450? Nood question I know

Don't whine about the 449/511 guys.

I changed oil in my 511 today and it is getting to be relatively easy......also changed my wife's 2012 TE310. Now there is a bike where somebody had a true sense of evil in design....... The 310 has a breather hose connected to the drain plug, which solves the problem of getting oil blow by in the air filter box - but - makes changing oil kind of harder - not nasty, but just harder than it needs to be. Complicating the process is a screen behind the drain plug and the frame is in the way of putting a straight dental tool in to pull out or reinsert the screen........So thanks for the designer fixing the blow by problem from the factory but I wish they would have put a second drain plug in like they did in 2013's......

I wonder how Tinken's breather box will complicate my life changing oil on the 511?

Are you sure you want to take the advice from someone who clearly has no idea what he is talking about?
SS filter post is in the Technical Reference forum. :)

Tinken,

Does your shop make a 449/511 filter cover with a strong magnet built in? I would like one. Would also like to find a magnet add on for the 310.

RR

Yes, it is being made now for the 449. Also we are making a new system for the 250/310s. Drainbacks are simple on the 449's.

After reading more and more about the zipty oil recirculating tank for the 449 anyone that has this bike should probably have this right. Looks stock, should be a stock item but not, beneficial to the bikes health, and its made out of billet aluminum!!! I want one look like the kit would be easy to install
