• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Dakar 2011

I seen a preview on VS last night. Check your listings for that channel. I think something will be aired @ midnight (cst) IIRC.

Edit: Just checked and it is airing @ 12:30 pm this afternoon (PST). It will re-air on thursday @ 9:00 pm (PST). Again, double check your listings.

My dvr remembered last years settings, and it did record last nights show. It was slightly more than a preview, they said how well some participants did, including Johna Street. :)

Wow... just watched the first day on Versus and all I can say is that their (Versus) coverage is unfortunate
Last year coverage was marginal at best, but judging from the first day this year they’re going to reach AT&T status

Sucks.....I was hoping they’ll improved :banghead:

:thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

Yeah, versus sucks for this kind of motorsports

The best so far is the Aussie page. Their 8-10 min highlights for each day is better than the versus coverage!

I am watching the Aussie site. Lots of good stuff on their site.

Ruffus - you sound like you are enjoying the race immensely. :)

I am Dean  I just can't catch up. This work thing keeps getting in the way :banghead:

Maybe next week will be better (midnights :p)

I'm guessing the rear tank is the 10 lt rear Rally Tank from the Husaberg modified to fit the Husky.
Its a completely new tank designed for the TE to mate with the 20ltr front.
30 ltrs would be fine for a 450, Tamsin Jones had 27 on her WR450 Yam last year and Craig Bounds has the same Safari setup on his WR450 this year.

Unfortunately the Husky is out of the race :(

Safari designed both?

Specific to the Husqvarna TE?

Yes Dean. The rear was made especially for this rider and isn't on the sales list as they don't have a finished hardware kit for it. It was very pre production.
:)

Much thanks Brock. Perhaps we may see this in the future, molding for tanks is not inexpensive... so they may actually want to re-coup some of that.
