• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

cycra hand guards?

Husqvarna
hey guys i took my txc 310 out and dropped it and the clutch lever broke already. i was doing some research on how to prevent this from happening again since i replaced the clutch lever. i stumbled upon cycra handguards. has anyone ever heared of these and will the work for what i need?

Nuts.... I missed the fact that this thread is in the Husqvarna Corporation forum, moving to Common Topics...

I also have the Cycra Probends. good product.
The plastic deflectors, whatever they are called, were sharp enough to cut if you raised your head while working on the bike.
Guess how I know that.
Take some Emory cloth and round the edges.

I use them, too. Love `em! I used to get bruises on the outsides of my hands after crashing, but with the Probends that doesn't happen anymore :)

Another here with the Cycra Probends and very happy with them

I have them on a 2011 TE310 and they do clash with the ignition a little (where the key goes) when the bars are in the forward position but it's still doable.

I have them on my TE449, but we just tried installing a set on my buddies TE250 and no dice. The bar ends seem to have a smaller diameter than the hardware that comes with the Cycra's. Anyone else run into this issue with the bar end not matching the hardware?

Its not the guards its the bars- I would venture to guess the 250 has Tomaselli bars and the 449 has Magura bars (both are 1 1/8). The Tomasellis are good bars but untraditionally have a smaller ID inside. There are threads here about it and solutions like drilling them out or using a quikcert...

I have Cyrca CRM's and like them alot. Enduro Engineering make some nice ones as well.

My Cycras were nice and durable, but my Highway Dirt Bikes setup is worlds better. Their service both during and after the sale is phenomenal as well. Worth every penny.

Could be Tomaselli, all it says on them is "Axis Centralize" with a position marking target. I read another thread from Bill of BMP where they have to drill the handlebar end with a 9/16" bit, so maybe this one is a candidate.

They might get a thumbs up if they would actually fit the bike they were purchased for. I had a lot of problems getting them on my 449 also.

As with any product that is "universal", they all take some bending / massaging. I have installed them on a few bikes, and they all take adjustments. If you don't have a vice, and aren't ready to tinker, have your shop put them on.

I have Cycra Probends on my TC510. They are by far the toughest hand gaurds I have ever had. Don't buy Acerbis. They are expensive and seem to be made of pot-metal.
