  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Custom map on the 511 SMR

Thanks man, I was asking questions and doing research at the same time. I read enough from guys bitching about air boxes full of oil and phoned Zip-Ty the other day and ordered a oil recirc kit , also sent my ECU in for re-mapping. My ECU should be in your shop April 2nd, I'll call next week to make sure it arrived. The package that comes in form Prince George BC Canada is mine.

With the Map 3 flashed in my ECU I would I'm assuming I run the power up jumper and O2 sensor deleted. correct?

You may also place a switch on the jumper plug to be able to switch between map modes for fuel economy.
 
Complete newbie here - just picked up 2012 SMR 511 w 328 miles on it. Full Agra but unsure of how it was tuned / mapped etc. Dash displays "race map II" and I see there's a small plug which has a small loop of wire kinda like a jumper, siting right next to ECU. Any help and advice much welcomed. Thanks.
 
Perljam, what help and advise do you require? as you have stated your bike has an Akra end can and racemap 2 enabled, so your good to go.
 
DErZ, Thanks..since reading these posts about race map III, PCV, power commander, Zip Ty mapping, power plug etc., it seems like race map II is the bare minimum combo for the Ti Agra. Correct? Want to be sure I'm set up to optimize the pipe.

Also, it really pops & snarls on decel, so much that it melted my right indicator!!...I know, I should ditch them anyway, but is that not a sign that it's too lean? Took her out yesterday for maiden run on my 50 mile backroad roller coaster and I'm STILL smiling!! So, any recommendations to make improvements without going overboard are appreciated. Thanks again.
