• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

crankcase rot repair

how do the rads attach? the dual shock liquid cooled is blank spot i know nothing about other than pics. what tank and shrouds do you have to use?

It would have to be an '84 LC frame, it has the split down tube to accept the center port LC exhaust and it has the rad mounts.

that permatex right stuff is BADASS silicone like fold a freeze plug in half before its slowly peels off strong****************************************

doesnt the 84 air cooled also have it? i noticed a lot of little differences between the 83 and 84 frames...altho when i fire up the 95 360, it makes any of the swedes feel like international guided missiles

All the '84 frames have the same geometry, but the down tube in the front is different for the air cooled and the LC.

I wasn't sure on the early a/c 84 frames if they received the tighter geometry. that's good to know. a mate is looking for a Vinduro machine and I can recommend the 84 a/c with confidence. He didn't like the 83's when he rode them years ago (XR man)

the serial numbers are hard to read on my frame, but i dont think its a leftover 83 because it doesnt have the "push nubs" for the side panels, it has the threaded tabs and the tube that connects the subframe to the mainframe is welded shut on the ends, where the 83 models are open.

WHAT??? u have a milk truck with a removable subframe:confused: PIXS any progress on the headlight?

To clarify, when I say "all 84s" I mean all the real '84s, not the left over '83s sold as '84s.
