  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc CR ignition

They say they give a stronger spread with more top end, via different mapping. The rotor is lighter and needs flywheel weight for offroad use.

FBF has some programable JD units on their ebay site for the CR ignitions.

I'd love to try one myself, but I'd have to find a CR ignition, too.

This is a little funny as I have the 02 CR250 model and guys in this time frame and a little earlier wanted the WR FW and ignition to tame them down a little for woods riding ... Now, you, the WR guy, is wanting to go the opposite direction :0)

I'm not sure if you wanna go this way but a lighter FW alone might help your bike REV quicker ... And I'm not sure where that would leave the spark of your WR ignition as most people I heard about change the FW and ignition at the same time when moving from the CR to WR items...

My CR was really a beast in single track ... Not alot of bottom end but the mid was very strong and the top end was scary blasting in the woods ... A C2 pipe helped on the bottom end and added to the mid and top end ... Now the beast was out of the cage ... I did alot of short shifting on single tracks :( plus it was hard for me to get the power to the ground....

I did purchase a FWW but never got it on as the company kept sending me the wrong size FW nut and after being sent the wrong nut about 3 times..I gave up on them...

You wanting to go racing or what? I've always heard nothing but good things about the 07 WR machines.... They were the CRs with better suspension (for the woods) , new color scheme, and toned down engine for the woods riding

'Bills Motorcycle Plus' in Salem OR is the guy to talk to about this ... He sold me the CR and was filling me in on the WR ignition stuff ...

ahhh see, i wont have that problem as i have a power valve damper unit:thumbsup:

Thanks for the info
