  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Gawd I hope my kid doesn't see this. Lucky boy, how old will he be? Let him know we all wish him a Happy Bday & enjoy his new machine. I hope to buy a new bike for my son, more for reliability than anything.

My son is 4 year old .....I take this bike new to keep for all his life memory gift from his dad...in package have and MX wheels tyres and plastic kit...hope to be more strong our relationship ...don't know about me and my wife...:)

Nice bike. Just a suggestion though. If he is a beginner rider, think about putting a short piece of fuel line on the throttle cable between the carb slide and the carb cap. That liquid cooled 50 will scream with the throttle twisted and it just might be a good idea to limit the travel until he's good and ready! My son could ride that bike at 4, and maybe yours can too, but I'd say the majority of 4 year olds can't. Keep him comfortable.

That is a great idea, dad! I did the same with my sons and it means a lot to them. As for the wife, mine turned into the best crew chief ever! Good luck on that one!

I got my 4 year old on a pedal bike for the first time yesterday and she's already asking for a dirt bike. "I want it pink, with purple skulls on the side, and zombies on the front and back..." Have fun!

Last night, my son was speculating about how fast he would be now if I would have bought him a dirt bike when he was 5. I reminded him of the times we would go bicycle riding & I would challenge him to take on different obstacles. Most of the time he would refuse, he is a very cautous boy. I told him I hadn't considered getting him a dirt bike until earlier this year when he started to get a lot more aggressive on his bicycle. If I got it any earlier he would have likely scared himself so bad that he wouldn't get back on it.

I had this experience with my daughter on a PW50, she nearly T-boned the neighbors brand new truck. I have a friend who bought dirt bikes for him & his son. The first time his son rode, he ran over my friend & never got on a dirt bike again.

I hope all goes well with your boy, I really like Flyingbob's suggestion. The first time my son rode his XR70, I took him to a MX track. They had a flat sawdust kiddie track that he could ride around without the possibility of running into anything. My guess is @ five years old, he will probable get nearly as much joy running around in all his MX gear as he will riding the bike, my son loves dressing up like a Power Ranger.

Ofcourse any suggestion can help me guys, flyingbob i start from your suggest to close throtle, i am looking for help wheels like bicykles using
