  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc CR 125 Mods

Henner Mx

Husqvarna
B Class
Now that the season is over and im moving on to the 2011 CR 150 i thaught i would share my mods that help me get a 2nd place overall for the season in the AMRA/OUTLAW motocross series in the lites expert class ( yes on a 125 ) :applause:. FMF fatyy pipe , custom 5 1/2 inch short silencer with 1" i.d. core , stator and cdi & wire harness off from a 2000 CR250 ( husky ) TMX carb 35 pilot stock 60 needle 4th clip down and 510 main yes a 510 main with the advanced timing curve of the 250 it is a gas eating monster :D. other wise stock no porting or head mods needed. You woods guys would love this it has bottom end like no other 125 and yet revs to the moon 13/50 gearing also. If any one is interested in how these mods came to be contact Joe @ Henner Motorsports 315-576-3488 This is a 2008 CR125.

congratulations on your success....
510 main jet - wow. Whats the CR 250 ignition do ? How did you know this mod would be worth doing ?

How can you run a 500-510 main, I was running a 400 main when my bike was a 125 and still running very rich. Also was running 30 pilot. Where did you get your suspension done at sound like you got the 45mm forks figured out. My bike is 2008 cr125 with ohlin rear shock.

The 2008 cr125 is awsome. I think it maybe better than the new cr125. I would hate to think that anything could turn better or stop faster than 2008 cr 125. I would put my cr125 up against any wr 144 in a race. Its nice to know that people are trying stuff besides powervalve springs and carbs. I like the thought of the husky 250 iginition.

The stator and cdi puts out almost double the spark energy with a very different timing curve if you were to put these on a bike and not jet it properly you would burn a hole in the top of the piston almost immediatly. Its not as horrible as it sounds you have to remember here in NY its only been in the mid 50s latley so summer temps im down around a 470 main and thats not much different than the 09 and 10 with the new tmx carb. As far as the suspension goes FCR suspension is the place to go when it comes to the 45's with the ohlins shock.

So you used the 250's stator as well? It fit? I just bought the JD ignition, and an 02 CR stator assembly. I will report when I get a chance.

Yes you have to the 250 stator , cdi , wire harness. You have to use the 125 flywheel the 250 will not work. Im gald to see intrest in my mods but im not sure on the jd ignition i did not have one to test and with those having modified timing curves from stock it could be a whole different animal.

Back in 1982, on my XC125, I had a 38mm Mikuni VM and was running a 530 main jet. Big carbs like big jets.
