  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc CR 125 Cylinder Barrel needed

Vinny2003

Husqvarna
Hi Guys,

Can anybody help me to source a cylinder barrel for a 2004 CR 125 please?

Or suggestions for what I can do if I can’t source a new one?

Seem to be able to source the pistons but not the cylinder barrel.

Thanks

You posted on vital chat as well?
Have you got any pictures of the state of your current cylinder

No just posted here currently.

The cylinder is at the mechanics who took it out so haven’t got any photos I’m afraid. There were a couple score marks & quite a lot of play with the piston so quite a lot of wear on the cylinder.

Seen quite a few posts about people rebuilding these older models, curious as to what they did with the cylinder, I have started to see things about re-plating them so presumably this route is a viable one?

Yes .... this option .... I have used www.mongoosemachine.com out my way with good results ... have a look at some of the work they do ... I’m not sure where your at but I’m sure you have a place close by the does this work.

Yeah there is a place called Aptec in the UK I use there really great they have done a couple of husky cylinders for me and some Yamaha, and Kawasaki ones too I always send the smallest diameter piston with the cylinder and they match the plating on the cylinder to the piston for optimal fit always top notch work
