  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Cough.. Cough TE510

Husqvarna
B Class
2006 TE510, Ran great all last summer. Just before storage would not idle correctly and popped more than usual (would not go to slow idle coming at a stop bout 3500 rpm). If I jiggled or slightly turned slow idle adjustment or let out clutch (bogging it) then it would idle down. Also float bowl overflow was leaking......... It snowed (winterized it).
Welcome to spring, did it fix its self?.... Ya right. Cleaned carb replaced overflow (o-ring) no more float bowl leak still pops and backfires pipe gets red hot (normal when running on stand?).

Who wants to guess.

I cleaned carb reset to last years settings
fresh gas ethenol free 92oct
checked valve gaps (good) timing chain seems to be good

replaced o-ring seal on low speed idle adj needle
--------------------
get new jets? (have JD jets now)

replace intake rubber boot & seals between carb and motor (air leak)?

I have a guy who wants to buy but I won't sell it this way, Your input is appreaciated. Thanks,

Brad V.

Have you pulled pilot jet to check and see if it or other are plugged?

Good point RLW I did not pull all the jets off or the slider needle I will do that. Seems the problem is in lower rpm range so I ASSumed it was the idler jet. Also while pulling the plug wire I noticed the wire connection in the insulater seemed loose sure enough with a slight pull the wire came out. I don't see any good way it can be put back in and guaranteeing a good connection, So I guess I'll have to order one of those now GRrrr... Riding on is more fun then workin on.

Update, Tore carb apart again everything seemed fine except "Idle Jet" only a pinhole of light showing thru. Now runs like it should with low speed jet at 1 3/4 turns out. Just as a heads up this also eliminated about 80 -90 % of the decel popping (amazed at the diff that this jet 1/2 plugged can make) so if you have decel pop consider cleaning this jet or going a size larger. (To clarify I only cleaned the adjustable idler the first try)

Good to hear it's running well again.
Doesn't take much to plug that little guy
